Caught and Too Fat to Flee
What happens when they steal your freedom and you're too fat to run for the hills? It can happen here. It happened in Czechoslovakia, Chile, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Laos, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Cuba, and dozens of other countries around the world. Free people woke up one morning and discovered they weren't free anymore. They lost it through invasion, or the manipulation of crooked politicians, or a coup by some army officers, or more often than we like to admit, through an election. There weren't any atomic bombs, and most of the time, there weren't any devastated cities, executions in the streets, or massive occupation armies. For a good part of the population, it was sort of hard to tell they weren't free, for a while. It takes time for a government to recruit secret police, get them spread throughout a society, and start the insidious process that turns men against neighbors and takes away the one thing humans must have to be happy-freedom. In just about every country that's lost its freedom, there were a few people who have tried to do something about it. They joined resistance movements, fled into other countries, committed personal acts of sabotage, or tried to use whatever legal means were left in place to get some of their freedom back. Unfortunately, almost always, there weren't very many people ready to take any risks to try to get freedom back. Most people in unfree countries decide it's easier to go along. Too often, too many don't see the loss of freedom as that big of a deal. That's the way the people who steal freedom want it. They want the average citizen still at the job, worried about what he is going to put in his mouth more than what he can say with it. The first day they take your freedom away, they are only too happy to let you get up in the morning, eat breakfast with the kids, take off for the office or the factory, and put in a full day's work. It's only when you have gotten used to their being around that they start cracking down, taking a little piece at a time, a day at a time. Every inch of the way they will keep telling you it's all for your own good and safety. That's bull-****. The only reason political leaders take freedom away is for their own good and safety. That's the way they make sure they keep their jobs. TOO MANY PEOPLE DON'T GIVE A DAMN IF THEY ARE FREE OR NOT. Source: http://www.scribd.com/doc/3772763/Je...g-the-Innocent |

What we chose to ignore
Just in case of people didn't know what's going on in the USA look at the following. A brief summary of presidential directives, executive orders, and Congressional approved bills that where signed into law over the last 40ish years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jl1VIhdpl4c |

NO, I WILL NOT COMPLY! PERIOD
Bit by bit, piece by piece, the US government is taking away all your rights and freedoms and property. How far are you willing to let them go until you stop them? Did you realize governments around the world control the local news? Even Hitler made up stories for the newspaper. It's time to make a decision for yourself. Excerpt from Michael Badnarik's constitution class. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbNIU2KEz4g |

In the UK the populace seems to be the most monitored anywhere, and although there are groans in the MSM it's always explained away "to control anti-social, or terrorist behaviour". Ah well - that must be OK then. But now it's got to such a point that they are allowing non-police trained council workers (traffic wardens etc) to stop and search, enter peoples' homes, etc. Leaked information on the briefings of these new 'recruits' implies the expectation of major riots.
It's ridiculous. Meanwhile, as long as Dancing on Ice/Big Brother or any Simon Cowell-related programme is dumbing everyone down the masses don't do anything. Stuffed with junk foods (bogof) from supermarkets and specials in the usual US-led franchised takeaway chains, forced to be vaccinated with highly dubious substances which lack credibility, the people here are slowly going under. That's why these communities are so important - switch off that TV, don't believe the MSM, be constructive and do positive things to help yourself and others awaken. |

Nelson Mandela as far as I know never shot one bullet, 20 plus years of imprisoment yet his spiritual power prevail, no matter what they did to his body he never hated his fellow white countryman. The power of love
will melt the heart of any enemy. For me this was a hard lesson to learn and a very painful one. As a soldier I saw what violence as a way to achieve freedom did to innocent children. This is why I am against killing as a way to settle matters of Freedom. My spirit is free, my heart beats with love. I love boxing, the martial arts, contact sports yet I do not have to kill anybody if at all possible even in self defense. Watch the UFC and see how much respect these warriors have for each other. Here's my idea put Bush and Osama Bin Laden in a square circle and let them go at it. End of story. |

Liberty, freedom... what does it all mean?
There so much you can tell about it. It's important to everyone. Look at my signature. It pop up everywhere. Don't be addicted to freedom. Freedom cannot be absolute. In the name of the fathar (allah, or whatever) there has been done the most terrible things. In the name of freedom too. Freedom should be preserved at all times. We have to guard it. But first... we really have to know what we are talking about. As I say above : freedom cannot be absolute. If my freedom stands in the way of yours, there is something wrong. As one mentions above: it's also a state of mind. The Nelson Mandela example is well chosen. He wouldn't have survived his imprisonment as well, if he were not free in his mind. Freedom is also the power to think for yourself. Not to be easily indoctrinated, repeat what others say... Too few people think for themselves. Freedom is also not being addicted to anything. We all are. With some exceptions maybe. The Dalai Lama? Ghandi? If you've seen the video "What the bleep do they know?", you know that addiction is inherent to the way our body works. Just some ideas. |

Well said Stefan !!! Hey you made my day. Free like you said is a state of mind. To love, to laugh, to have fun, embrace my enemy not kill him, feed the hungry not watch him starve to death. Just live life, just live life in peace and harmony. Great day to all !!!

This was written in the 1920s by the Arabic author Khalil Gibrain:
On Freedom At the city gate and by your fireside I have seen you prostrate yourself and worship your own freedom, Even as slaves humble themselves before a tyrant and praise him though he slays them. Ay, in the grove of the temple and in the shadow of the citadel I have seen the freest among you wear their freedom as a yoke and a handcuff. And my heart bled within me; for you can only be free when even the desire of seeking freedom becomes a harness to you, and when you cease to speak of freedom as a goal and a fulfilment. You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief, But rather when these things girdle your life and yet you rise above them naked and unbound. And how shall you rise beyond your days and nights unless you break the chains which you at the dawn of your understanding have fastened around your noon hour? In truth that which you call freedom is the strongest of these chains, though its links glitter in the sun and dazzle your eyes. And what is it but fragments of your own self you would discard that you may become free? If it is an unjust law you would abolish, that law was written with your own hand upon your own forehead. You cannot erase it by burning your law books nor by washing the foreheads of your judges, though you pour the sea upon them. And if it is a despot you would dethrone, see first that his throne erected within you is destroyed. For how can a tyrant rule the free and the proud, but for a tyranny in their own freedom and a shame in their own pride? And if it is a care you would cast off, that care has been chosen by you rather than imposed upon you. And if it is a fear you would dispel, the seat of that fear is in your heart and not in the hand of the feared. Verily all things move wrthin your being in constant half embrace, the desired and the dreaded, the repugnant and the cherished, the pursued and that which you would escape. These things move within you as lights and shadows in pairs that cling. And when the shadow fades and is no more, the light that lingers becomes a shadow to another light. And thus your freedom when it loses its fetters becomes itself the fetter of a greater freedom. Last edited by I_Am; 09-14-2008 at 03:58 PM. |
