Default Bush & Clinton- Dynamic Duo, May 29-09

GW Bush returns to Canada for another luncheon (second coming! - first was Calgary Mar17-09), now with Bill! Oh well.

Clinton, Bush booked for joint Toronto appearance
JOHN IBBITSON

WASHINGTON — Former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will appear together in Toronto next month on a public stage for the first time since Mr. Bush ended his presidency, in a remarkable twist on the cultural cold war that Barack Obama and others are trying to lay to rest. The two will be appearing at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 29 for a moderated "conversation" that is expected to last about two hours.

Oh well.

Bush vs. Clinton a mostly polite affair

There was bitter conflict all around, with accusations of war crimes by noisy streetside protesters. Even boxing promoter Don King offered to comment in the media about this epic battle of the ages, 42 vs 43, donkey on elephant. But inside a downtown convention hall, the closest thing to conflict came when Bush accused Clinton of being too hard on himself about not intervening in Rwanda.

There was not even a sneeze of interruption, let along dissent or protest, from the largely corporate audience.

Of course, any hint of animosity would have to be manufactured as they're both in the same boat!
