Default Re: UFOs that disguise themselves as airplanes or helicopters?

This thread caught my eye because about 25 years ago I was at a get together at a friends house. The people there were pretty much believers in UFOs and all that. My friend had an experience as a Boy Scout on a camp out where everyone at the camp had seen an aircraft and I think it had landed although the details were sketchy because my friend didn't like to talk about it and would clam up when pressed for details.
Anyway I went outside for a smoke and I saw what looked to be a flying saucer flying near a mountain about half a mile away. I sat there and watched hardly able to believe what I was looking at. I was thinking OK this is it, I am looking at a full on flying saucer. As it got closer I got a little scared cuz I didn't want to get picked up or whatever. Then I heard the prop, and the sound of an a small airplane echoed off the range. After a minute I could tell it was a Cessna or some other prop plane with Christmas Lights draped around it to look like a flying saucer. I don't know who would do something like that or why.

In any case my post may be a little off topic however It did remind me of that experience. During that time frame I was amazed on a daily bases regarding an open secret (nothing to do with UFOs) that as far as I could tell about 1 in 5 people were aware of and no one talks about openly, especially me. So I guess at the time it wasn't such a big deal to see an airplane dressed up like a UFO.

On a different occasion during the same time frame I was at a hang glider port on the Cali Coast when I saw 3 yellow dwarf jets flying in formation. They had what looked like a standard military Jet escort. I got a phone call regarding the pix I had shot and was told to forget it, and I did. I figure 25 years later its no longer news, because I have seen that aircraft online, otherwise I'm sure I would still be forgetting about it.
