SETI have always been barking up the wrong tree lol they are looking up the wrong end of the spectrum. They should be looking for a high-energy intelligent pulse up in the UV and higher, not way down in radio... what are we going to find there? not an advanced civilization capable of interstellar travel.
I guess thats why some of the ET groups went with a more 'direct' approach but once again the PTB and the Media managed to convine people that 2 guys with some string and a plank were responsible how stupid the public are to not take this more seriously;

It is sadly, you are spot on. A shameful waste of expenditure. That pic above says it all with the crop circle answer to the voyager probe right beside a radio telescope used for the SETI scam. Head in the clouds whilst ET is right here knocking on the front door.

SETI is a farce institute whose establishment is more intent on debunking and dismissing possible extraterrestrial phenomena like some ufo sightings than actually finding anything.

Radio waves would dissipate at a certain distance anyway. Its an outdated and completely unproven method of supposedly 'searching' for intelligent life.

And if Seth Shostak is any indicator, SETI is doing anything but searching for extraterrestrial intelligences.
