It seems that if it wasn't possible to have sex with the doll it would be ok for people to have them. Strange how people judge a doll.
Just for the record I don't want one ![]() |

Perhaps a clue is in the question though Burgundia...
You put the word 'sex' in the title of a thread and it gets nearly 2000 hits in just a couple of days - whereas our lowly Devon and Cornwall thread which was set up nearly a year and a half ago with a purpose that this site was created for (building physical networks and communities) has only had about 4000 hits in all that time. This tells us something about our human condition(ing) surely. So , what do the people want, consciously or subsoncsiously? Is it building communities or robots to turn on.. and turn on... ? K P.S. I'm not ordering one , mind ![]() |

Nothing wrong with sex...it will always be on people's minds (maybe it is conditioning, maybe not...). the problem is with attitude towards it and towards each other....

I mean that sexual force and the drive to sex is a very strong one. Stronger perhaps even than the drives to food and shelter (and making preparations for cataclysms it seems).
So it's not too surprising that people will go to extremes (and even silly ones like this robot) lengths to get it. I don't think that people's attitude is wrong necessarily. People just want to have sex...and if they can't get it, they'll see what their other options are. Men and women have slightly different attitudes towards it (in the main...I'm not trying to categorise). Perhaps this robot shows the attitude of some men (or women) of their best (in their mind) bet for getting something they feel they have no other recourse to. Ok.. perhaps they could try dating sites instead. It's hard to imagine a higher self planning a robo-buddy as an earthly experience - but there you go. Sex and power... it gets the attention every time. No wonder we have the hierarchies we do on this planet. Despite the lonely sadness this purchase infers...I can't help seeing the funny side of this 'bot... and her part in any gender discussion...maybe it's just my strange sense of humour... ![]() Peace n love... and thanks for the thread K |

![]() I needed an excuse to listen to this song again... I think it is the perfect soundtrack to this thread. *Warning* its kind of weird and creepy, sort of like having sex with a robot.

They had them in Germany since 1977, but I must admit they improved on a vocal level. I can't say much of their other qualities though

lol... I wish I could have figured out how to embed the video...then perhaps you would not have been quite so excited before clicking on the link!
Still, I thought Brett is quite good looking, no ? Very life like anyway. How about this instead ? http://www.sanfranciscosentinel.com/...obots-11-3.jpg (probably costs a bit more than $9000 though. Ask Sienna) K ![]() P.S. if someone can leave a message on my page as to how to embed I'd be grateful (I tried copying the embed code for the video into the post, but it just came out as html words) |

i get the sense, that most people, look down on someone who would want a sex robot...i find that perplexing ..and somewhat sad...
What works for one, does not always work for another.. The variety in the human experience is the spice of life |

Mmm... nice lines !
![]() P.S. I bet we'd probably best not even go near the subject of automated mechanical pleasures...as some people's alternative to real love... ![]() I personally can't understand why some women would use vibrators...instead of something real. But that doesn't make it wrong to use one...is that cheating? Like cheating by using a robot? it just wouldn't be what I'd think of doing. But then I'm not a woman, I'm not in that situation, so my understanding is limited. Maybe it's the same for Robbie the Robot. If I was in the situation of someone contemplating buying one, the reasons would probably be obvious to me. I agree with Celine... and I think judging others for being sad or quirky or even downright misled is only loading up the scale in the other direction. I do it myself of course. All the time. In 2010 I'm going to try my hardest to understand what I dislike and embrace it. Unity here we come ![]() Not that I'm judging anyone here mind... Crikey, this is hard, isn't it ?! lol.... I love you all, robots and all apparati. ![]() I'd say though, (Kula Sings...) "Ain't nothing like the real thing Baby... ain't nothin'.... " K Last edited by Kulapops; 01-15-2010 at 03:48 PM.
