This is typical "science speak" for "we are embarrassed to find ourselves still in the learing process". Science (here I use a capital S because it is a formal religion) loves to tout new discoveries, so long as they find them first. When handed something new, they react in the same fashion a 4 yr old does when you hand them a Brussel sprout, or asparagus; they give it the "fish-eye" and then say something like "I don't like that!". They'll pretend it doesn't exist. Then marginalize it. Then, once they've figured out how to explain it, they'll announce a "Great New Discovery". When you think about how much faster man's learning cycles could be without all this silliness... almost makes you want to cry. Teachers, among all the learned, should understand the benefit of living by the motto; "I live to be educated".Fred
