Default Re: Strong earthquake jolts urban centers of Alaska

Something just happened here about 45 miutes ago, it shook my house hard, but only for about 2 seconds. I actually went outside and walked around my house to see if a huge tree fell or something, LOL.
I'm in between thunderstorms now and it was dead calm and no thunder or lightning when it happened. Very strange big thud or boom, only with no noise, but yet it shook my house abruptly. I even looked for cracks in the walls and ceilings to see if my house shifted or something, very weird!
My house sits in the middle of 5 acres of woods, but kind of on the side of a hill so that's why I was looking for big trees that might've fallen nearby or my house shifting somehow because of the wet ground from previous rains.
I'm not in an earthquake zone either, so very strange, I've never felt anything like it before.
