Feeling like life's got you Up a Tree?
your not alone! This very unusual photo shows three black bears who somehow made their way up to the top of a (secure?) tree for 'who knows' what reason. Perhaps they were frightened off by some aliens on the ground trying to abduct them or perhaps they were just looking to hitch a ride on a passing UFO. The picture was taken by my daughter Tara while on a summer (2008) work project up in Labrador, Canada. She was collecting data on the health of several migratory birds (Puffins and others) that pass by and stop over on the many small islands just off the Labrador coast, between Blanc Sablon and Cartwright. While driving along the low-traffic dusty coastline roads her team came across another stopped vehicle that had already caught the attention of these three bears. --Paul despault50@sympatico.ca original from here; http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/pa...ml?theme=light Last edited by giovonni; 01-27-2009 at 10:52 PM. |

Well, it is my understanding that bears usually climb up trees for three reasons, which are to eat, rest/sleep and escape danger. Looking at the picture, it does not seem like they are resting/sleeping or eating way up there. So, I would say the bears were startled and climbed all the way to the top of the tree to escape what scared them. Maybe, these bears saw bigfoot or the chupacabra. Who knows, but I hope they are o.k.
