Triangular-shaped object caught on video by Roger Marsh PASADENA, CA - JAN. 12, 2009 - Video of a triangular-shaped craft over the skies here appears rather spectacular in this piece shot by a NJ teenager. This as-yet uninvestigated case was filed today with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) from a visual sighting that was caught on camera Jan. 8. An 18-year-old New Jersey man filed the report, saying he was on vacation visiting his uncle when he saw the light in the sky and began to take pictures of it. He said a scan of the Web turned up a similar video shot by a man in Russia. This report will be updated with a complete report on January 2009 cases filed with MUFON. |

I have to say that is a special video, my absolute favorite is vid 3, when he argues with his father. The father says it's a star, and the young man is exasperated and then focuses his camera on a star to prove his point to his father. HUGE difference. The conversation was interesting in itself as the son pleads with his father to look into the camera, and the father refuses to.
Really beautiful footage, and not his first sighting! I am very impressed. This also lasted for over an hour to 1 and 1/2 hours. EVEN IF it had been a star, it would have moved. This was a stationary object. Diamond or square, whatever you want to call it... Peace of Mind, Wormhole |

Oh man, it does seem like an eye in a diamond. But why does it say "triangular object"?

Orion 11, I think it is great that you are going to try to debunk this. More power to you! If i had the same $1000 camera with the same lens, I would try it too! Best of luck, please let us know what the results are! Let us know the make and model of your camera too, my husband is a photographer and would be able to say what the difference would be in your equipment, from a professional point of view!

Could this have been a holographic projection? If it were a NWO UFO spy-drone(is there such a thing?)...I doubt that it would be luminous. Does shape matter when it comes to UFO's? Is aerodynamics even a consideration? Perhaps it was a flying-pyramid...like in one of the sci-fi movies! Actually a spy-satellite is a spy-drone...and there are dozens of them, I hear.

Hi there wormhole! thanks. ![]() But it is not so much about "debunking it" for me... Ive never been one to "debunk" things.. in fact.. Ive actually always been one who believes more than they prolly should. lol Many ppl will call hoax... while I am still sitting there believing it. LOL Its really just about truth for me.. for myself really... I dont really want to convince anyone of anything.. Id just like to know for myself, and if some of you would like to know as well, I would be more than happy to share. ![]() Here is my reasoning behind this object being Venus~ 1:~ The kid taking the video states that he is looking west... Right where you look to see Venus (which is extremely big and bright this time of year) many other people also mistake this for a "UFO" ( there have been at least 5 UFO sightings in my area recently that have all turned out to be Venus) 2:~ If you listen, towards the end of the 2nd video i think.... You will here him say something to the effect of ( "well it moved, it was up over there when i started filming, now its moved down over this way").. (apparently not aware or not thinking about the Earth rotating) 3:~ he also states that it was in the sky for about an hour and a half; 90 minutes is almost the exact amount of time i see it every night before it goes below the horizon. 4:~ I have taken videos of other lights in the sky, (helicopters, planes, etc) , and when zoomed in enough, they do indeed look diamond shaped. There are many things that say to me this is in fact the Planet Venus, (though it would be much cooler if it werent, like the video in istanbul!!!) The camera I will be using is a Canon, Im not positive of model at the moment as it belongs to a friend who just paid over $900 dollars for it, It is one of the newest ones if that helps... But once I have the specs I will post them up for you, and pics of the camera itself if you like. the exact camera model will not be needed to duplicate this, as long as it is a good quality camera. I assure you. Blessings Andy ![]() |

Sorry Orion11, but this is never ever Venus, or Uranus or somekind of planet.
This object is too much triangular for a planet or a star. |

Hi Helvetic! ![]() I understand those thoughts.. However... Video cameras have been known to create a diamond shape when they are zoomed in extremely close on an extremely far abject and the camera is not able to focus properly... it is pushing the camera beyond its capabilities. A r-O-und light certainly can look like a diamond shape. But that doesnt really make it a diamond shape..... I will show you what i mean soon enough. ![]() ![]() |

http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...er-Review.htm# ) Note that the he uses 700x (!!) digital zoom. That's insane I don't know how he managed to hold the camera still. Also, it's not an HD camcorder, this thing is normal video resolution (720x540). That also means that the CCD sensors aren't particularly big. Now imagine if you zoom into that field 700 times, there aren't many pixels left. As you can imagine digital zoom is nothing like an optical zoom, it takes the information that's already there at maximum optical zoom and then digitally enlarges it, so you won't get more details, in fact you will zoom into artefacts of the video codec if anything. Let's have a look at what the codec does then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_subsampling As you can see the colours of a codec, to compress it, are averaged. This will naturally create square artefacts of similar hue. Now I have no idea what the optical footprint of a planet like Venus would be, but if you remember that we draw stars in the sky not round but like pentagrams, you will remember that our eyes, just like any lens, create those beams around the centre of light. Put the codec across that and you have a diamond with something more tangible in the middle. I'd be deligted if it was a Mason drone spying down upon us, but it might really be Venus. If it wasn't so overcast here I could shoot my HD camera at Venus, Orion, will you use HD or SD? |

This is exactly the type of thinking that creates resonate truth at the end of it. I am proud of my fellow Avalon Members for their ability to take a deeper view of the world. It is my sincere hope that the desire for truth will continue on this forum. Secretly, I hope that it isn't Venus! But I would be delighted to know, if in fact it was.

Hi Everyone,
It's a beautiful ship if it is one. I love the colors too. I saw this on youtube a couple days ago posted it on 1/21/2009 look down the UFO Thread (although the video link I posted was only 1:04 minutes long) The videos here are more fun to look at: UFO Pasadena California January 12 2009 Video Strange shape for a ship.... hmmmmm.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FyEf...eature=related Colin Replied with this: This may not be the actual shape [diamond] of the object.. Diamond shapes on video cameras are usually due to "max" zooming on a bright light... and the result will be the camera aperture shape is caught on the video (which is a diamond shape). Read Marvins excellent analysis of similar "diamond-shaped" UFO's over on Open Minds Forum: http://lucianarchy.proboards21.com/i...&page=1#155884* ..and watch the test videos *peaceandlove note: The test videos are at Reply #7 on the Open Minds Forum Last edited by peaceandlove; 01-24-2009 at 04:18 AM. |

Seem Orion never made it. I've been just outside since it's full moon I went lunatic and had to grab my camera to capture both the full moon and the ridiculously bright Venus at the opposite end. I think after looking at it with all kinds of settings through my High Definition camera I can calmly say that whatever the boy believed to see there, it's most likely Venus he captured. I got rather similar results with the right settings.
Trying to see anything of that size no matter how bright, through a consumer camcorder is plain ridiculous and mind me I've used my optical telelens converter. If you want to see pictures let me know but I haven't bothered to transfer the material yet. It's rather disenchanting watching the moon through the viewfinder when it strips away all that I see with my eyes. |
