Thank you, Carol and other mods. I, for one, prefer a peaceful community!

If Avalon represents in a virtual sense some of the issues that will be raised in actual communities, then this has been a difficult but good lesson. Thank you for taking on this enormous house-cleaning task.

2nd this. . im sure when we get into communities or groups then the base politics will rear its ugly head till all get settled.. this is indeed good practice.. i feel calmer knowing someone is tightening the site up

i was starting to lose it a bit on occasion..

before I fall in front of the moderators mighty ban button
This is what it comes down to in my view and experience. I was personally beginning to find one or two others with a spirit of inspiration for true living, the seed of action on this forum. Some began to speak out something. Then all threads deleted and me and others banned and my pm banned. Luckily my ban was a break. A break from being naughty or something....I didn't think I was naughty just realistic as I could be.

This announcement was a result of one or two things. People leaving in disgust because of what I saw as new energy of the forum which seemed to conflict with the original standard and upset people the direction it was going in (which I found was getting more relevant to the actual description of the forums purpose) and others starting to rebel because of realizing censorship of this true direction.

I don't want to cause any fuss but that's how I see it. You always find one or two level headed people on these kinds of forums. When they start speaking together it's seen as dissent. They are like a needle in a haystack.

If I get banned or moderated for saying it, hey what can I say got to make my own forum to be on level playing field.

Most of the stuff posted doesn't interest me. I've found out General discussion is closely guarded because subjects that did interest me were more or less wiped clean. "cleaning the forum up".

It depends how you clean it up that determines it's direction. You can use the guidelines and justify but it all depends on who does the interpretation not on the guidelines themself that have the power to moderate.

Cheers

Hi Dean,

Try Off Topic in Camelot as that is where most of the threads are being moved to. Not gone, just being sorted into the forums that relates to them.

You can also go to your own home bio page and check your statistics to check and see if the thread has made it out of the review area as well. Just click on your name and it will take you there.

Hello Carol.
I've searched for them they are definitely not avaliable from what I can see. I couldn't see any review threads in statistics. Everything got lost after the cleanup. Including people I was contacting at the time.

Dean you raise a good point. Note what was said: "are being", not "have been". The process is on going. I am currently involved in the review of those threads we moved from the public forum.

To clarify, some threads are being marked for permenant deletion, other threads are slowly being repatriated in the most appropriate place on the forum. Personally, I have repatriated approximately 8 threads and marked over 40 for deletion - these threads will not come back into the forum, and the overall process is taking a lot of time and effort. In some threads, overtly argumentative and/or off-topic posts are sometimes being deleted before repatriation.

The goal of this forum remains as first stated in the OP. "Finding safe places, information and resources for building communities, site suggestions."

A..

Hi Dean,

If you remember the thread title, give it to me and I'll get if for you today. This goes for anyone wishing a particular thread they don't see and would like to see returned to the open forum sooner rather then later. Just PM me or post the thread title here and I will personally handle it.
