Take comfort in some more background here. Please don't panic - think and research before you do anything. There's nothing on Reuters at the moment. Just chill out! I've noticed legal bits and bobs like spellings of martial and marshall, also internal legal and local definitions of said subject, so don't jump to conclusions. Pozzi vibes to all eh!

I don't think you will see it on the AP. This is one of the house rules that they use and they don't report on all the yelling and fighting in the house. I guess you have to watch C-span for that. That's where the video came from. the document i posted explains why they do it.

It appears that they evoked martial law to force an immediate vote on a bill that the powers that be don't want to see debated.

This is shotgun legislation.

When Bush addressed the nation, and layed out the problem, he forgot to mention one thing.

These financial institutions were writing insurance policies for sub-prime mortgages against the debter walking away, and they never had the money to back those policies up. That is a crime. If any of us here did that we would be sent to prison.
