Kula;

This is a closely guarded family secret, so don't tell a soul!

Fred's World-Famous Scrambled Eggs
Begin with:
3-4 eggs, lightly scrambled,
Add in:
small Pinch of garlic powder,
small pinch of onion powder,
2 glorps * of ranch dressing,
2 pinches black pepper.

Scramble, again in bowl, then cook them, just like you were normal.

Serve with toast, with way too much butter on it.

*: Yes, a Glorp is a technical cooking term. Lemme s'plain.
You take a standard, small-mouthed bottle of Ranch dressing, and turn it upside down over the bowl. Contents will tend to fall out in, and make a sound which can only be described as a "Glorp!" Hence the term.

For the proper egg/Ranch proportion 2 Glorps is just right... 3 is too many. (now you've something to worry about, as well). Ranch Dressing has a "slightly tart" flavor to it which mixes most magically with, and enhances the flavor of eggs.

Fred

Hi Seeing Terra !

Thanks for the pictures... glad to see there is more than one picture of chicken and waffles on the internet...!

Unless you've been to the same diner as Illuminate ?

Maybe I should start a thread just for pictures of chicken and waffles.

Amazing... the combination of things that people come up with!

I can't wait to try it, sounds like a heart attack 'to-go' !

btw.. this american diner has opened not far from me... wonder if they have this delicacy?

doesn't look very busy though...

Sorry Fred, that recipe was just tooooo good to keep to myself.

Not a hundred percent sure what ranch dressing is though... do you have a recipe for that?

Do you take a nice branch and remove the bees ?

What else can you have with waffles that's stranger than chicken ?

Shanyard - couldn't agree with you more.

Illuminate - some guys get a big kick out of wearing nappies

Hope you all have a great eve... see ya round...

Darkness and shadows sweep before us all. The cold mist of time creeps ever closer touching this thread with a veiled melancholic message http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZRYFTBhjlY

Kula...

"Ranch Dressing" is a salad dressing whose flavor is based upon buttermilk and herbs. (yeah, a gringo thing, probably).

You might look around the grocer's "import section" for something called "Hidden Valley Ranch dressing".

Failing that, I goobled and found a couple places with "clone recipes" for the stuff. One at:
http://www.recipezaar.com/Hidden-Val...ng-Clone-24178
Another at:
http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/rec...ing54867.shtml

Also makes a dandy thing fere dippin' yer chips in, but not your biscuits. And has been known to improve the flavor of just about anything. Except haggis, of course.

Enjoy!

Yummy Ranch dressing. You can get it at Tesco's but get the standard version. Makes a lovely change to salad cream.

I love that barbeque sauce on the Jack in Box Burger. Can anyone fly me in a regular "Jacks Back" Jack in the box...Oh.. and some black beans from ranchers restaurant in Costa Mesa?..... pretty please

Ranch Dressing !! I make my own because its hard to find here in Cyprus.
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 sour cream or yogurt
1 c. butter milk or (1 c. milk w/1 TSP. lemon juice)
grated garlic
chopped parsley
salt
pepper
oregano, thyme, basil or any other herb you might have around
Mix well
Mmmm... Good
I think it tastes better than the bottle type I used to buy in the States.
