Messages like this still have value, however. Think.

The ETs will only intervene once we are evolved enough ourselves. The only real ET message that I am aware of is this 1977 radio interruption which I'm sure most of you have seen.

There may be a Galactic Confederation of Worlds, but they will only appear once we have proven ourselves worthy of their assistance.

That name of the alleged ET who hijacked ITN called himself Vrillon. Likely a play on the name of Claude Vorilhon a.k.a. Rael founder of the Raelians. The freaky ufo cult were likely the ones who did the deed.

Well, at least there are crop circles and sightings, some of which are government craft but some of which could also be real.
