Champions of light

Sorry if this is a negative thread but I keep hearing about these champions of light and how they will save us.
Just wondering who they are and what they have been doing for the last X number of years.
People say they will step in when things get really bad and save us, but for millions of people life has been really really bad and they never got any help from these so called champions, wars and famine have devastated lives forever so I am wondering why they are going to help us in the future. Their track record for helping is pretty rubbish.

Or are they just hear to help the western world??

I don't believe they are out there and if they are they don't give a toss about anyone on the planet.
Can any one tell me why we can expect them to step in???
