![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes caught up alright and 20,000 views today. Quite an achievement seeing as they had over a months headstart and global publicity. Not that there is any point comparing a serious spiritual thread with a party/nightclub thread. Even though we have way too much fun here sometimes (for the fun-police anyway) this thread is actually a goldmine of interesting revelations and serious research aswel.... you just have to look a little harder between the jokes, funny pictures and cyber-drinking sessions. ![]() Thanks and much love to every single person that has dropped in for a good time, a laugh or a serious discussion. Love-you-long-time.. ![]() Onwards to 2000 replys and beyond, Luminari Resident party animal and esoteric/exoteric explorer ![]() |

The following quotes are the results of brain damage caused by playing bodily contact sport.
The words of successful Australian Rules Football (AFL) players... Who said footballers aren’t smart? 'I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.' (Shane Wakelin). 'Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.' (Mick Malthouse - Collingwood). 'I'm going to graduate on time, no matter how long it takes.' (Peter Bell - Fremantle - on his University Law studies). 'You guys line up alphabetically by height.' and 'You guys pair up in groups of three, then line up in a circle.' (Barry Hall Sydney Captain at training). Brock Maclean (Melbourne) on whether he had visited the Pyramids during his visit to Egypt: 'I can't really remember the names of the clubs that we went to.' 'He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the morning regardless of what time it is.' (Kevin Sheedy on James Hird). Jonathan Brown, on night Grand Finals vs Day Games 'It's basically the same, just darker.' Ron Barassi talking about Gary Cowton 'I told him, 'Son, what is it with you. Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, 'Barass, I don't know and I don't care.' Barry Hall (Sydney) when asked about the upcoming season: 'I want to kick 70 or 80 goals this season, whichever comes first.' 'Luke Hodge - the 21 year old, who turned 22 a few weeks ago' (Dermott Brereton). 'Chad had done a bit of mental arithmetic with a calculator.' (Mark Williams). 'We actually got the winning goal three minutes from the end but then they scored.' (Ben Cousins, West Coast Eagles). 'I've never had major knee surgery on any other part of my body.' (Luke Darcy). 'That kick was absolutely unique, except for the one before it which was identical.' (Dermott Brereton). 'Sure there have been injuries and deaths in football - but none of them serious.' (Adrian Anderson). 'If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again. (Andrew Demetriou). 'I would not say he (Chris Judd) is the best centreman in the AFL but there are none better.' (Dermott Brereton). 'I never comment on umpires and I'm not going to break the habit of a lifetime for that prat.' (Terry Wallace). Garry Lyon: 'Have you ever thought of writing your autobiography?' David Swartz: 'On what?' 'Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw.' (Dermott Brereton). 'Strangely, in slow motion replay, the ball seemed to hang in the air for even longer.' (Dermott Brereton). |

This brand spanking new Airbus 340-600,the largest
passenger airplane ever built, sits just outside its hangar in Toulouse , France without a single hour of airtime. Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine run-ups prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all Four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft. Not having read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 Really is. The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had All 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to take off, but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats, etc..) Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm. This fools the aircraft into thinking it is in the air. The computers automatically released all the Brakes and set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a safety feature so that pilots can't land with the brakes on. Not one member of the seven-man Arab crew was smart enough to throttle back the engines from their max power setting,so the $200 million brand-new Aircraft crashed into a blast barrier, totaling it. The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown due to the news blackout in the major media in France and elsewhere. Coverage of the story was deemed insulting to Muslim Arabs. Finally, the photos are starting to leak out. Airbus $200 million aircraft meets retaining wall, and the wall wins! As someone said, after the mishap ... "That's why God gave them camels." |

Just wanted to mention that I tried a bit of basic meditation a few nights ago. Interesting to feel the quiet in my mind...like crickets chirping.

Yes Grasshopper now you understand.... Mind hard to make be still... Deep inside you there is a (You) who knows the answer to how to still the mind. Take more time to be still and listen soon you to will know of what others speak. Humble Janitor again you have scratched at an itch. With all the "stuff" that is going down right now it is SO hard to make my mind be still. Just when I think I am getting down to the zone of where I want to be I "see something" that makes the mind jump back up into the action. Many of my days are lived with Rx drugs flowing in my body that having a "clean" 32 hours is hard to come by. I strive for getting de-toxed and then having some zone time. BUT the drug free time also has to have Avalon Forum free time along with it as this place does make my mind spin.. So on to the next thing.. Hope all of you are good.. |

The Wiccan Rede
Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust. Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give. For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out. To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme. Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much. Honor the Old Ones in deed and name, let love and light be our guides again. Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune. Widdershins go when the moon doth wane, and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane. When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two. When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek. Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail. When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast. When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth. When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest. Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow. Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows. Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower. Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland. Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye. Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning. White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility. Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine. Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen. Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be. Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark. As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain. When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows. When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn. As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite. Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all. When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules. In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way. When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight. Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall. Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be. Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know. When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed. With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend. Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart. Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good. When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow. Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you. These Eight words the Rede fulfill: "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" ![]() |

A TRUE STORY . . . .
Outside Bristol Zoo there is a car park where cars and coaches can park. There was also a nice bloke with a hat and ticket machine charging cars £1 and coaches £5. This parking attendant worked there for about 25 years , then one day didn't turn up for work...Ho hum say Bristol Zoo management- Better phone up Bristol City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant......Err no say the Council...That car park is your responsibility...Err no say Bristol Zoo the attendant was employed by you wasn't he....Err NO!!!! Sitting in his villa in Spain is a bloke who had been taking the car park takings for Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years... |
