Forced "service to others" is not service, it's servitude.

If "Liberal America" thinks servitude is good then I want nothing to do with it. You seem to be hinting that liberalism is better than conservatism but perhaps you are just playing into the hands of the people who pit one party against the other, when in fact both parties are controlled by the same ultimate agenda. Accepting the illusion of thinking one side is better than the other is a trap and is ultimately counter-productive.

This sounds something like what happens in Israel, where everyone does some form of national service.

I didn't say one was better than another. I'm questioning certain parts of society that get their hands all up in the air over things like this.
