need help/advice on publishing work..

I'm looking for any advice on the best way to go about publishing my research. I have spent some time online looking but am having issues (and doubts) with the combination of; rights to my work, distribution, monetary rights, censorship, legal attacks by Gov. or power weilding companies... etc. I think you get the point. I find most sites offer some solutions but never all together. Any databases, Co.s, or personal stories/methodologies would be much appreiated as I am trying to do this while I still can.

Depends whether you want to get it among as many people as possible, or whether you want to get some money out of it.
If you want to get it out, easy and free, put it on archive.org, make a torrent, put it on megaupload and post links on some blogs, forums etc., based on what it's about.
If you want to get some money out of it... hmm, then maybe you should have picked a time when the economy wasn't collapsing ;]
