Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
Why do i have to put my birth date on this petition???
Think i'll just keep lobbying my local member!!! and btw - i am SOOOO opposed to this idea. One seemingly small step in "protection/censorship" opens up another can of worms!!! Next it will be back to book burnings in the library !!! Time to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH people - your one voice can join with others to become a vertiable anthem - dont forget that!! (says me living with 3 years of imposed daylight savings because WE were supposedly to stupid to know what was good for us even after the last 2 referendums ... sigh i love living in a democracy!!! lol) |

Just like 9/11 scare tactic=loss of freedoms.
My kids play this game when they are having a wrestle, they simply say, look a distraction, the other turns away and you make your move. Look a distraction (global financial crisis) tptb make there move The slide to fascism turns that little steeper nOslaves |

Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
This is a nightmare.
It sucks. Also beware of ISP's soon to be offering free internet, I believe in their disclaimers they will actually state that all data will be filtered (Big Brothered) I believe this is how they will push it to the public to gain acceptance Dont beleve the hype! or you have just sold out your freedom for free! |

This is super important. Everyone should get this to everyone they can, wether you live "Down Under" or not. They are trying to get us to put our blinders back on.

Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
As Pablo said you can put something there to stop pornography and children accessing it and so on,
so therefore I will be frequenting my local MP and having a big sook about this. Why should adults have something banned when most of us are not searching pornography and all the rest. A big kick up the Government's behind Mr Rudd. |

Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
Once the control of information is back in the hands of a few at a time like this, then there will be less survivor's of the coming problems and no chance for those who aren't rich to learn about things that do, and will, matter. Not to mention the social networking that won't be possible by mobern methods (Internet) and the chance to set up, share knowledge and communicate with people on a global scale for maximum survival of the human race and people in general. And then there is the global governance (tyranny), mass munipulation by the media, the stepping stone effect of losing our freedoms of expression, freedom of what we can say, see, think and feel. This is getting beyond a joke! This will, on a global scale, become the 21st century version of burning books in Nazi Germany if we are not successful at stopping it here in Australia. It's just this time it's data instead of paper that will disappear and all the knowledge we have accumulated!
Peace |

Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
this is all done by design,
They will censor the internet, all the nasty sites change names to something like Dysney or cute kittens and then they have to close down the internet and start again. By doing the first step, the domino's then fall one after the other. |

Remember, we are the base of the pyramid, if we unite and move in one direction, the top (the powers that be that needs our support) collapses in a heap.
Vote for freedom of choice for all. We are powerful beings. Last edited by angel3553; 11-01-2008 at 11:24 PM. |

Re: The begining of the end for the internet in Australia..
The same plans are to be set in motion in The United States...
http://www.tbrnews.org/Archives/a2888.htm And dare I say probably all other countries where there is a large amount of money to be made from introducing rules and regulations on the limiting of information. Because lets face it, if you don't know your being screwed on a daily bases, you'll continue to pay for the privilege. And for those that have a thirst for knowledge, they will continue to come back for as little of it as possible...until they start to believe 'there' version of the truth. Corporate entities control the mass of humanity at the lowest levels...and they don't want to lose it to a digital society of people capable of critical thinking. Lets face it, if we all got together to solve a world wide size problem, and it wasn't in there favour, there house of cards would flutter to the floor and the walls would come crashing down. And that scares them. Well I say GOOD! Let the fearmungers feel there own doing for a change. Karma three fold! Peace |

BTW .. this looks to be the hidden hand "Global Network Initiative" Communications minister Stephen Conroy revealed the mandatory censorship to the Senate estimates committee as the Global Network Initiative, bringing together leading companies, human rights organisations, academics and investors, committed the technology firms to "protect the freedom of expression and privacy rights of their users". Did a whois on the site http://www.globalnetworkinitiative.org/ U get the following Registrant Organization:Center for Democracy & Technology Registrant Street1:1634 Eye St. NW Suite 1100 Registrant Street2: Registrant Street3: Registrant City:Washington Registrant State/ProvinceC http://www.cdt.org/ Which is being pushed out from D.C. !!! |
