Bring up Task Manager and see how many Users are Loggged on. It should only show You or one User but if it shows two users on that Screen - You got Hacked or someone is using Your PC for a Backbone...

Sometimes P2P Programs such as Limewire or Azureus can cause these Issues...

That is if I understand You correctly about the Issue You're having.

You were logged off because you logged in on a different computer.

I do not use limewire or the other one

And the users say "0 active"

A "Backbone" in PC Terms means that instead of there being a Physical Server on the Net providing a particular Service - It can also be "Backboned" by Anonymous PCs on the net that have the applicable Sofware and or Hack installed on them.

This is done alot in Peer 2 Peer Software as usually Copyrighted Material is traded between Users and would likely come under scrutiny if the Server was a Physical one on the Net. Authorities could then scan that Computer or Server, and see its Black-Market Content, shutting it down in the process.

With Anonymous PCs as "Backbones" for Services such as these P2P Apps - Its virtually impossible for the Authorities to track down the Offenders as IPs are not always static and can be very variable in terms of Addressability - Hence very hard to find..

Thank you Merc

My PC is an E-Machine 2 yrs old

Windows pro

We have 4 puters linked to the same box, but the others always on and i know when they get turned on and off. the timing does not coincide with the other puters in house and activation never inpeeds the other puters,

The only time that things get logged out to that effect is IM' use from one puter to another when forgotten to be shut down from the other puter, have i worded this right , i hope so.

Tho' I have nothing to hide, it still raise a red flag for me

Ok so you are using some kind of IM system.

Normally you need to key in a password to sign on to those, what I recommend is that you go through the process necessary to change your password for that system, log out and log back in. The other person will then be kicked off, and wont be able to get back because you will be the only one that knows the password.

I also recommend that you get one of the free antivirus and antispyware systems installed if you have not already done that - and keep it up to date.

My daughter use to use XFire on my puter till she got he lappy in two weeks ago and has not been used on mine since, yes she has yahoo but like i said she has not been on my puter for 2 weeks, and it would say if i log out of an IM. NO IM WAS INVLOVED

Just the puter and i never log in to my puter as we all have our own.
