There was another thread about this too -
Africa - Foreign countries buy vast tracts of land, food & biofuels http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13943 Who knows. Maybe these new 'investments' in Africa won't be removals. The whole continent was carved up by Europe, let alone what happened with the slave trade and agricultural development in the Americas. The world's first concentration camps were set up by the British, during the Boer Wars. China's in Sudan with arms deals. Everyone else runs around like king kongs on magic mushrooms, too. Mining is berserk - no oversight (cheaper!). The pattern isn't reassuring to me with this announcement anyway. ![]() |
