Strange animal
This creature was photographed in Poland not far from the place where several goats were killed and partially devoured by a mysterious animal.
Any ideas what this could be? |

Re: Strange animal
it is definitely not a lynx. some people were trying to say that it was a wolverine (), others that it was a puma ( 3 pumas escaped several months ago from some kind of breeding place in The Czech Republic and were prowling in Poland killing different farm animals and deer but they apparently have been shot). This animal is not a puma, not a lynx....

Re: Strange animal
That's an odd one Burgandia! although cat like in body facially looks more dog like, from the rear view of this animal it looks very emancipated also.
Hm! perhaps some genetic engineering going on here there. |

Re: Strange animal
two of the goats that were killed had half of their skulls bitten off. They say that only a wolf would have been able to do that but there are no wolves in that area...
Altogether 4 goats were killed, only one almost all eaten, 2 just killed and one small vanished, probably snatched by the animal. Last edited by burgundia; 09-14-2009 at 08:51 PM. |

Re: Strange animal
Not A hotdog ?
or a Dat ? I have to say that from behind it looks a lot like scooby doo ! Seriously, the whole poise, head raised to look, is very dog like. Don't cats tend to duck their heads more when focusing... ? K Either way, glad I'm not in that field! |

Re: Strange animal
Both the picture you posted Burgundia and the texas "chupacabra" looks to me like spliced animals.
First, the "chupacabra". Look at its nose, doesn't that look like a pigs snout? Could be the picture is lying a little, but it also looks like it has hooves, or "knuckles" that resemble that of a pig. I also notice that it doesn't have the muscular body a dog usually have, but yet again it resemble a small pig, with slightly longer legs than usual. For the other picture, I second that it looks like a cross-breed of cat and dog. I don't see quite the resemblance to the chupacabra, as this animal seems larger and its eyes seems to sit lower on its head. The chupacabra seems to have its eyes "close" together, whereas the other animal has them quite widely apart. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it could look like the cat-dog has a long tail, which further could resemble a cat. Actually, the first animal that popped in my head was a cheetah. Just a few thoughts on the pictures, feel free to elaborate or dispute my findings should the observations be off. |

Re: Strange animal
Feral pig, emaciated, is my guess. The snout tells it all. We have feral pig (boar) near where I live in N. Georgia. The ones here have darker bristles/hair. They are ferocious. I don't hike alone let me tell ya!

Re: Strange animal
Here's another one. From Montauk, NY 2008. Kind of looks like a DNA pie animal (experiment) to me, like the first emaciated one. Or fake? One was washed up, they say, and here are 2 pics (snout, beak).

Re: Strange animal
my first thought from the photos is that it reminds me of the photos i've seen of the texas chupacabra.
there's definitely some stuff out there we can't explain. although indiginous cultures always seem to have legends regarding them.... but that montauk thing is just bizarre. anyone heard any official explanations? |

Re: Strange animal
it sure does look like a mixture there! im veering towards feline origin as cats seem to be able to live in seclusion and hide very well, moreso than dogs i believe. for example the 'beast of bodmin moor' has been seen rarely over many years without being tracked down or caught, it does seem to be a puma type feline and has been blamed for attacks on humans, including children. so my offering is its a cat based animal any cryptozoologists in the house?!!

Re: Strange animal
OK ive changed my mind, if someone can get near enough to photograph it, with the animals back facing cam, seemingly unaware, has gotta be a dog!!
