I don't know what they stand for but I hate them with a passion.

Re: Those little yellow ribbons
the ribbon campaigns are cross-spectrum in colour and cause.
the eternal significance of yellow is interesting, because the ribbon shape to me evokes the infinite '8' their use as means towards bringing an end to anything at all is counter-intuitive Last edited by uniconr; 10-28-2008 at 12:50 PM. |

Re: Those little yellow ribbons
The first time I know of the symbolism of the 'yellow ribbon' was the Tony Orlando song 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon...'round the old oak tree' (don't know if you're old enough to remember.
It's supposed to be a sign to a loved one that love is still waiting for them at home. Made slightly more popular by the Viet Nam war...oops..conflict. Considering how evil that 'conflict' was and how far the tentacles of the conspiracies permeate, this seems like another innnnnteresting 'coincidence' |

Re: Those little yellow ribbons
I remember the song and understand the intent. Symbolism in the form of talismans is important - it transcends intent. (In fact, I am going to remove the image of the ribbon from my first post for that very reason.)
The first 'yellow ribbon' was this one and is a better likeness of a ribbon that would be tied around a tree: Last edited by arcora; 10-28-2008 at 01:02 PM. |

Re: Those little yellow ribbons
I wonder....
Does this make 'cause bracelets' a symbol for SHACKLES? I've never really liked them for myself either, now I wonder... maybe a soft sign of compliance to their paradigm? ? |

Re: Those little yellow ribbons
A symbol holds whatever energy you put into it, if you use a yellow ribbon thinking of love then that's the power it holds. I never knew of the egyptians and yellow ribbons so it didn't mean evil to me.

What are you saying? you don't like my avatar?
Seriously though, I've heard of several things like this, where they get us to use symbols unknowingly. Like our peace sign for example... it's just the tree of life turned upside down. And according to some teachings that reverses its meaning, effectively turning it into the 'tree of death'. |
