Lyrics:

I was walkin' down the street
Concentratin' on truckin' right
I heard a dark voice beside of me
And I looked round in a state of fright
I saw four faces one mad
A brother from the gutter
They looked me up and down a bit
And turned to each other

I say
I don't like cricket oh no
I love it
I don't like cricket no no
I love it
Don't you walk thru my words
You got to show some respect
Don't you walk thru my words
'Cause you ain't heard me out yet

Well he looked down at my silver chain
He said I'll give you one dollar
I said You've got to be jokin' man
It was a present from me Mother
He said I like it I want it
I'll take it off your hands
And you'll be sorry you crossed me
You'd better understand that you're alone
A long way from home

And I say
I don't like reggae no no
I love it
I don't like reggae oh no
I love it
Don't you cramp me style
Don't you queer on me pitch
Don't you walk thru my words
'Cause you ain't heard me out yet

I hurried back to the swimming pool
Sinkin' pina coladas
I heard a dark voice beside me say
Would you like something harder
She said I've got it you want it
My harvest is the best
And if you try it you'll like it
And wallow in a Dreadlock Holiday

And I say
Don't like Jamaica oh no
I love her
Don't like Jamaica oh no
I love her oh yea
Don't you walk thru her words
You got to show some respect
Don't you walk thru her words
'Cause you ain't heard her out yet

I don't like cricket
I love it (Dreadlock Holiday)
I don't like reggae
I love it (Dreadlock Holiday)
Don't like Jamaica
I love her (Dreadlock Holiday)

Hello All
I've recently joined Avalon Forum. My Birth Certificate classifies me as 50 but age doesn't mean anything to me now and it doesn't come into my mind much
I haven't had a partner since 1998 after my second divorce. I've learnt that my partner relationships were doomed to failure because they were built on illusions of romantic love and expectation. I don't have expectations and
I'm not looking for a partner just trying to build friendships but you know the saying...never say never.....who knows i might be with a co pilot one day?
I agree with you eXchanger that it's better to be without a partner than being in a relationship that isn't right. It's great to be absorbed and fulfilled pursuing interests and activities that you enjoy or interest you.....like reading all the thought provoking and interesting material on Avalon for one.
One day at a time
Kind Regards
Helen

Hi everyone, well i'm not looking for anyone because i've been married 38 years this year phewwwww!! does that warrant a trophy or something!
Anyway what a good idea for you singles to get together.

Many would say i guess that they are concentrating on their higher self and this would only complicate the matter but hey you can still do that and find a like minded person to share your life with.
Especially here i would say this is probably the best place to find someone.

My other half is convinced i'm chatting to guys all night lol!!
Well he's right isn't he ha ha!

But seriously, i think if he could use the pc he would be on here as much as me!
He listens and watches all the camelot interviews with me.

live in the moment ...

love life ...
love your self ...
love others ...

never say never ...
be and be open hearted ...

true love arrives when least expected ...

explore it ...
embrace it ...

never close your heart off because of what did or didn't happen to your heart in the past ...

always leave the door to your heart open ... the continuous flow of fresh air will one day bring with it ...

your true love ...

never say never ...
don't say anything ...
feel your heart always open ...

true love will enhance ... not hinder ... your life journey ...

I think this is a funny thread!

I am female 33, divorced...

Many of my ex's were narcissists..one MAJOR sociopath..a "junkie/musician/actor"....lots of "creative" guys that ended up getting envious and then "competing" with me...

I have my moon sign in Aquarius so i am not "typical" of a "female"...i love people but i don't "need" anyeone...I am very independent and need some decompressing "breathing room" because i work very hard everyday multi-tasking many different things. I am not clingy nor do i like it. I stayed too long in all of my relationships because i can't deal with making anyone cry so i am the suffer in silence withdraw from reality type...

I have cleared my life the past few years to just the basics...

Work,family,doggy,....only nice people as "friends" ...research, reading, creating, living, helping peeps...etc..

I feel quite exhausted on the relationship front...

feel like i want to make up some "lost time" from giving my energy to the wrong peeps...

i was married for 12 years. I am not in a relationship right now but I am not sure I want to be. I am happy living my life the way it is. I am alone but i do not feel lonely. I guess I do not necessarily need another person by my side to be happy.
The relationships of most of my friends are falling apart now so there is nothing I could envy them.

Anyway, it felt right for me seven years ago.....

i think, that, you got to find someone
who you just can NOT live without...

and, that you have to be
very specific, in what you want,
and, what it is, that you are willing,
to give, in order to receive, what you want

it is a two = way street

however, most people i have encountered
seem to see, the street, as having one way, their way
what is in it for me ? and, they forget there is an US

and, myself, when i see that,
i take the next exit, off the ramp,
why bother --
if you can NOT improve anothers life,
and, another can NOT improve your life
then, why bother to waste time,
being in it !!!

personally, i think the key words are
being caring, kind, and, thoughtful
and, giving more, than you take
and, remembering a life that is properly shared,
is never halved, but doubled

after 50 years of being successfully single...
i think, i learn,
how to wear the pants/and, wear the skirt
in my family - and, as a result of that
i think, i would have the potential to be a good partner,
for the right person

being with the wrong type of person, is draining

and, who needs that !!!

another is there to make us happier, NOT happy

and, who has time, for sad sacks with sad tales

your words resonate with me susan ...

a true relationship is a "two = way street" ... giving and receiving equally = balance ...

one way streets lead us in different directions ... this then is not a true relationship ...

it is not up to one individual to make another happy ... a true relationship is not about "making" anything ...

it is about the effortless flow of travelling together ... sharing and experiencing equally ... respecting the "us" factor ...

some just take longer to realize the two way at some point became a one way ... but at least it's realized ... and the exit ramp is then taken ...

and happiness resumes ...

Sorry to throw this in here but whoever enjoyed that video can't dare to miss frontier psychiatrist.

Regards the two way street, I also found that couples that try too hard to be a single unit don't make it either.

Great video Piers, that guy could move!!!

Why is it that so many couples cancel each other out? Often you get married people away from each other and they are personality plus, but put them together they become neutral and boring. One controls the other, no fun, no trust. Its sad to see.

I go on week long horse treks most years, into the high country of New Zealand. Its a week of fabulous scenery, through tussock and bog, up mountains and into valleys. Nights of song and dance and drinks. Quite hard yakka, but great fun. I love to observe people on these treks. They really come out of themselves. Women on the treks love what I call the cowboy ethic. The men really look after the ladies, and the ladies feel appreciated in a way they may not be in their ordinary life. People become very real when the going gets tough. Of course, attractions happen, partnerships crack, and others are formed, but not as often as you might think.

One interesting observation (and this is from the men!) is that women are tougher, have more endurance. We are more likely to dance all night, drink the men under the table, and be up riding all the next day!!!

I am noticing more and more that young people are more androgymous. Woman are accessing more of their capable maleness, and men allow themselves to be softer. Men and woman are more likely to be great friends and mates, than they used to be when I was a kid. I love my men friends, but I certainly don't sleep with them, would bugger up a good friendship!:na ughty:
