Book Recommendations
If there is already a post dedicated to recommended books, I apologize.
I could not find one. Assuming I'm surrounded by avid readers, I thought we could recommend books that we feel are aligned with where we are, and perhaps where we know we will be, spiritually. If you feel it necessary, give a link to a description of the book, and maybe where it can be purchased. My most recent favorites are; Light-Seeds; Michael St.Clair 2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl- Daniel Pinchbeck Other books that sounded off a reminder of my power include anything written by Brian Weiss or Neale Donal Walsch. Mutant Message Down Under~ Marlo Morgan Way of The Peaceful Warrior & Sacred Journey Of The Peaceful Warrior~ Dan Millman Illusions~ Richard Bach Tao Te Ching~ Lao-tzu The Miracle of Mind Dynamics~ Joseph Murphy Celestine Prophecy~ James Redfield The Tao Of Pooh~ Bejamin Hoff I'll stop here. I'm looking forward to the list that could grow here, and I thank you all in advance, for taking the time to share what literature assisted in your wake up call. Re: Book Recommendations
I would suggest two Authors.
Robert Monroe & Bruce Moen. Robert Monroe started having OBEs around 1958. He thought he was going 'nuts'. He talked to a couple of good friends of his that were psychiatrists. Robert Monroe was a Electrical Engineer and owned a company for that purpose. He started The Monroe Institute later on. He wrote 3 books. Journeys Out Of The Body (1971) Far Journeys (1985) Ultimate Journey (1994) Then a man named Bruce Moen had similar experiences and then became a 'student' of Robert Monroe at the Monroe Institute. He has written 5 books. Vol.1 Voyages into the Unknown (1997) Vol.2 Voyage Beyond Doubt (1998) Vol.3 Charting Unknown Territory (1999) Voyage to Curiosity's Father (2001) Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook: A Manual For The Art Of Retrieval And Afterlife Exploration (2005) Bruce is also an Electrical Engineer. Both men were skeptics for quite some time. Bruce Moen was still skeptical even while writting his books. Very interesting information here. I have been asking Bill & Kerry to try to interview Bruce Moen for a while now. My own OBE travels increased after reading these books..... EDIT: Bruce Moen also has his own website here: http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com/ Also a Forum within this website here: http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com/c.../yabb/YaBB.cgi Last edited by Stephen; 09-15-2008 at 10:10 AM. |

Re: Book Recommendations
For adult's and children alike I'd recommend
"The Crysalids" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chrysalids Made by the same guy as villige of the dam and give's a great messige of tottal acceptence towards othere (atleast I belive so) Main Characters David Strorm: The narrator of the story, David is one of a small group of youngsters who can communicate with each other via telepathy. However, their community's theological prejudice against anyone who is abnormal means he and the others must keep their abilities carefully hidden. Hhhhmmmm kinda sound's like the whole "Indigo" thing lol on a added noted I'm mind boogled as too why this novel hasn't been made into a movie yet, so any one from hollywood see's this come on this story would sell big! and spread a importent messige!!!! Re: Book Recommendations
Great replies one and all, and I'm delighted to see that I have only read a few of those suggested so far! I have attempted a book a week for almost 50 years, and I have no intention of slowing down. My own foundation list includes Joseph Campbell, some of the world's great scriptures and commentary on same...oh heck, I don't know where to start. There is one book that I have recently discovered that I strongly recommend. Instead of being a spiritual guide it is marketed as a business tool. It is also a tool for refining your self-understanding, your understanding of others, and becoming in effect your own life coach. The book is called Strengths Finder 2.0 and the author is Tom Rath. It's in the business section. I've posted about this book elsewhere so I won't go into another rave here about it. Strengths Finder 2.0 will help you identify your greatest abilities, nurture them continuously, network effectively with others, and plot a path for future growth. |

The Law of One - books 1-5. You'll learn everything you need to know about the evolution of the mind. You will also learn who you are, where you are and where you are going. These books will challenge the way you think and will teach you many great things. They are full of just pure awesome information that can only be found within these books.

I've found this one particularly meaningful: The Children of the Law of One and the Lost Teachings of Atlantis by Jon Peniel. As a supplement: The Golden Rule Workbook by Jon Peniel and Jean D'Esprit If you want someone to tell you the way is easy and we all get a free ticket, look elsewhere. If you want someone to tell you the specifics of the hard work you need to do, Peniel spells it out. |

Re: Book Recommendations
Anything by Eckhart Tolle.
Presently really enjoying The Miracle of Love by Ram Dass about his amazing teacher Neem Karoli Baba. by the way not sure if true, but I heard the "Mutant Message" author made much of it up. Supposedly a number of Aborigines claimed it was a gross misrepresentation of Aboriginal culture. The book was reclassified as fiction. |

And I really didn't get Light Seeds, it just seemed rambling and didn't do it for me. Am I the only one?

Re: Book Recommendations
Not sure if this is off topic, but much of what is going on makes me think of
Childhood's End - Arthur C. Clarke .. 1953 This is of course not quite in the same category as a lot of the books mentioned.. but a good one. |

Which is why I was able to read Mutant Message and appreciate the message of oneness delivered in the book, without paying any mind to the controversy surrounding Marlo Morgan and whether or not the story was true. Peace. |

I picked up a book called "Awareness" by Anthony DeMello, 4 years ago. This book was given to me by two different people in the same week, so I figured there was a message in it for me. I refused to read it after three chapters. I recently picked it up again, on the heels of having finisihed A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, and I didn't want to put it down. Perhaps it's good to have Light-Seeds in your possession. It might beneficial later. Peace. |

Re: Book Recommendations
I almost forgot to mention one of the most important books in my own development. It is called Nutrition And Spirituality by Roberta Atti Johnson or Johnston.
This book appeared in a package in my mailbox about 1991, and did more to shape my approach to health than anything else I ever read. I must have read it twelve times. I never learned who sent me the book, and I have never been able to find another copy, not on Amazon and not in the library. Odd. |

Re: Book Recommendations
Hi all
I highly recommend a thorough study of Spiritual Science as put forward By Rudolph Stiener. Read in this order: 1) Theosophy 2) Occult Science 3) Knowledge of The Spirtual Realms and its Attainment. Once you have read those there are numerous lecture courses available. Very importantly read the lecture notes on the four Gospels as well as "The Fifth Gospel" All Free !!! All Online: www.rsarchive.org This is unsensational spiritual science. Peace. |

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein
Many here I am sure have read this book. For those that have not and are interested then I strongly suggest reading the 1991 version over the 1961 version. Wiki Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stranger_in_a_Strange_Land |

Re: Book Recommendations
Hi.
Here there are some nice readings: Conversations with God (vols I, II & III) Concerning the UFO phenomena here's maybe the most important book: Allies of humanity. Book One: An urgent message about the extraterrestrial presence in the world today.More readings related to the UFO phenomena: Fringe knowledge for beginners And at last, but not least, some videos many of them related to the UFO phenomena: The secret NASA transmissions. The smoking gun I encourage all of you to believe that the world continues and that the humankind becomes united and FREE and INDEPENDENT in the cosmic community of races, living peacefully and in harmony. Peace, wisdom and love for all. |
