Right now all I'm waiting to see is a stock market crash.
When? Who knows.

As for polotics, I really don't like either candidate.
I, also, dislike the idea of a president at all.

Peace,

Is everyone glossing over this news item? It was announced earlier in the morning, but few details came with the announcement.

Fed to buy massive amounts of short-term debt

Quote:
The Treasury will provide money to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to support the new program, the Fed said. Fed officials would not say how much but believed it would be substantial. The money would not come from the $700 billion financial bailout President Bush signed into law on Friday.
How much is substantial?

sorry for double post. i saw this its not being put up at the forefront but http://www.voanews.com/english/2008-10-07-voa17.cfm

we were hoping china would loan us the money to buy this garbage paper but they r ****** apparently. now the fed is 'buying' it. or you could be more accurate and say they are firing up their printing press and shuffle some paper, cook the books and ultimately inflate us up som more

Question Re: October 7th Headlines in the news

The Fed will buy debt? But the Fed makes our currency. Are they just gonna print up a bunch of money or give huge credits to the banks? WTF does that mean?

What's the difference between the Fed buying debt and the Fed pushing more money/credit into circulation? Currently our money is created through the Fed buying debt (US treasury bonds) to begin with.

Oh, and 1.3 TRILLION?!!! What is that going to do to the value of the dollar?

It appears that they will print a bunch of cash to pay for all of this. More than likely it will weaken the dollar and hyper inflate our economy.

So many people trying to give predictions about what is going to happen but nothing happens afterall...

So it's true, we do not have any real advantage over all the people who are still in the dark.
Because the problem is that whether you know about what is going on or whether you do not know anything and you are a sheep, you cannot change anything.

None of us here posses a media network to make new propaganda against the governement, so whatever we say or predict, we can't change anything.

Naomi Wolf speaking about WHAT YOU CAN DO about the recent Coup d'Etat in the United States of America.

(my fourth post about this since early last evening)

This is the most important IMO. The police state is real people WAKE UP!

The secret war in Pakistan isn't looking good.

The buy back of short term debt is bad.

The global economy is not good at all.

Peace

Well wolfman, it's now 7:11am on the 8th October and everyone is fit and healthy - except for one mouse who was silly enough to get itself into the plastic bin of grain we keep for feeding the willdlife. Both our cats have been occupied with it for the last half hour.
