Canada and the SPP (NAU)
there has been mention on this forum that canada has pulled out of the spp.
this government of canada website certainly say nothing about that. does anyone have relevant information that this is or is not true? http://www.spp-psp.gc.ca/menu-en.aspx |

IMO, this could be a PR trick to make us believe that Canada is still 'Sovereign'. The show goes on behind the scene.... salute. |

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
i agree...the die is cast...the nau will happen, i'm sure.
it has been mentioned a couple of times here that we had pulled out, but there were no replies to my posts questioning the statements. the government site confirms that it is still all systems go...just like molson's, 'I (used to be) Canadian!' |

I truly hope that the spp has been rejected by Canada.

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
i'm afraid that it's not true. the canadina government will continue the 'status quo' which will take us straight into the SPP and the NAU. get used to it. it's gonna happen.

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
no, it will not continue to happen! talk to your mp, demand they bring it up in question period, demand that they see it brought before parliament. 87% of canadians polled are opposed to the spp.
a really informative site http://www.canadians.org/integratethis/ they have some suggestions of things you can do if you feel concerned http://www.canadians.org/integrateth...ide/index.html |

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
Well Harper did not get the majority at the last election, thanks Quebec!
I believe the NAU is still on their agenda but honestly they need something huge to convince people to go with US/Mexico, specially in Quebec, half of us don't even wanna be part of the Canada. Maybe they will activate the bluebeam project...who knows. |

I too heard on the Forum that Canada was backsliding on the SPP which "Gabe" mentioned on this forum giving the reason that Canada did not want to align itself with a bankrupted country...I have yet to find out where he got his information. "Operator" feels that if this information is true although his attention is more focused on the "Amero" currency (which would be tied up with the NAFTA superhighway, NAU and the SPP) that might mean the power brokers/bankers, politicians, etc. could be considering the introduction of a global currency speeding things up due to the dire economic situation and in the process of doing this eliminating a few steps that were initially to take place. Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
we will see in this session of parliament what spp-inspired legislation is put forth. i expect bill c51 and c52 to resurface, but i also expect government departments to continue to deregulate industry, right in line with the spp 'free market' values. however, america's bankruptcy doesnt necessarily mean we wont align ourselves with them, i think were still going to see attempts at 'harmonization' of policy.
i am glad that canadas banking system is currently rated #1 in the world, since it means we have no reason to abandon the canadian dollar for the amero, or worse, a global currency. |

There's some behind the scenes work going on on the global currency initiative, and on closer ties with the EU for Canada.

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
freak, i hear what youre saying, but it really depends. i mean is he a backbencher or do you think hes going to be in cabinet? the fact is most mps dont even really know whats going on with the spp, despite effort in parliament by the ndp. i know optimism = naivete or whatever, but i really believe that your personal political influence is however deep of an impression you can make on your mp. if you can scare him enough with the facts, thats good! tell him you and all your conservative friends and all their conservative friends mean business haha.

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
The problems I`ve heard about the SPP is that if we try to enter the States they want our fingerprints before entrance is granted and that If we then decide not to enter they still insist on aquiring our prints . Canada has so far balked on this and the U.S. team has got up and left the negotiations because of this

Re: Canada and the SPP (NAU)
If you want to get an Idea of how the NAU will work google "End of Nations "and watch it. it tells you how the Parliment in the E.U. works and who actually runs it and how laws and wages apply

NAFTA can still be cancelled and that is exactly what the Canadian Action Party is calling for. Deep Integration CANNOT be cancelled. It is a one way street leading to the dead end of Canada! The Canadian Action Party is the only party willing to take the one action essential to regaining national control of Canada's political sovereignty and natural resources - abrogate NAFTA! |
