For the past 2-3 weeks, we have been noticing strange, white furry growths appearing in areas around our home where the rainwater has been coming into contact with the pavement and brick.
It's possible that this stuff is already on the ground and grows when it comes into contact with water, but it only seems to appear after the rain. Rinsing down the same areas with city water doesn't produce what you see in these pictures. What do you think? Fungus? Mold? Chemtrails? All of the above? None of the above? ![]() I welcome your opinions... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by FIIISH; 03-10-2010 at 05:26 AM. |

Do you know any chemists? Needs lab testing to determine exactly what it is and where it's coming from..maybe you can contact the local news stations and one of them might pick up on it and have tests run to see whats going on. The reporters live in your area too, it may be a health concern for everyone involved.
No telling what it is, there are sooo many unnatural substances in the environment and a lot of factors to take into consideration...how long has it been going on, does it happen everytime it rains or on occassion? Do you have a lot of chemtrail activity, are there chemical plants or anything of that nature in the area spewing out containaments into the air? Pretty strange looking stuff and I would be concerned too...there was a video out showing the film of gunk left behind after chemtrail releases in some areas, it was also making people sick with Morgellans disease...or these little fiber things that get under the skin. |

City water has been treated with chemicals to inhibit organic growth. Rain water of course has not been treated. Your photos look like some type of calcium to me, however I don't know what it is. The best thing to do (I think) is to collect a sample and call around or use the Inet to find the best place to bring it.
Some municipality like the Board of Health or Sewage and Water will test it for you, that's what they do. It may be some kind of build up in your rain gutters. Please let us know what you find out! |

I woke up one morning a few weeks ago and found these blighters everywhere including on my car. The only info I’ve managed to get on them is that they are synthetic and are some sort of pesticide (according to david icke’s friend who had them analysed) – hhmmmmm!

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions!
I contacted the Phoenix Dept. of Health and was referred to the Department of Environmental Quality, which referred me to Air Quality. The rep that I spoke with there indicated that this was not something they would perform testing on. I could take a sample to a lab for testing, but we do not have resources to allocate for that at this time. I checked with the neighbors, and they appear to have smaller amounts of the same substance in the areas around their property-particularly the walls. As our residence has shared walls and common roofs, it is unclear whether or not this is somethng on the roof or in the paint reacting with the rainwater, or whether there is actually something in the air that is getting washed onto everything when it rains. I am inclined to think it is the latter! Hoping whatever this stuff is, it is not toxic or pathogenic! |

I think it's time to call the dept of health and let them know you will be calling your local NEWS station with the Photos and samples. I feel certain that the local NEWS will want cover your story. That stuff may be toxic and I am sure the Health Dept will find the time to investigate. It's a matter of public safety.
Your photos should be more than enough to get some response. |

I see this all the time... as a masonry contractor/general contractor..
it is what the trade calls "efflorescence" . it appears often after rains .. it is derived from impurities in concrete, mortar, brick, or any other cementous products .... the impurities are gathered by the water and drawn to the surface by the sun and can literally grow like a crystal formation ... it is usually sodium or alkaline based... it will usually taste like salt.. but you probably don't want to taste it.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efflorescence hope this helps |

that's not the same stuff... the crystal type formation and the powdery substance in the original poster's pics are efflorescence ... it comes out of cementous material just like the pics are showing.. note how it emerges from the edges of the wet area and as the water dries the crystals form. It can, and often does, form in areas that have never shown it before after an area has been wet for a long time.. long periods of rain etc..
your pics are much different.. I don't have a clue what that is.. I suppose it could be some kind of chemtrail residue.. |

I don't think this is snow mold. This stuff is appearing on the pavement and brick, plus we don't get snow in Phoenix! Quote:
Thanks for the information. This might explain why it has not shown up before when it has rained. We have been getting quite a bit more rain than usual lately. Chemtrails and their effects are real, but this white stuff may not be evidence of that, just "efflorescence". That is a relief! Last edited by FIIISH; 03-11-2010 at 05:30 AM. |

Sadly its the same the world over. Something along the lines: "If we dont look, its not there. If its not there it's clean."

Above this - I'd said... Quote:
Simply put - Its being noted that the White Substance is being found in Wet areas that get Rain in the Winter, and the Snow Mold is being found in Areas that get Snow in the Winter. Hmmm eh ? ![]() |

I am with you now. ![]() Quote:
The concrete in the picture with the gutter is over 30 years old. The concrete in the other pictures is newer, but the stuff is appearing on both. We also have a plastic planter on the back patio that is empty and has similar stuff growing on the inside of it. Whether it is the same, I don't know. Quote:

That is sad to hear about the dolphin. I agree, something IS happening. Quote:

Top369,
Thanks for posting the pic. That looks quite similar to what we have here. What I find strange is that this stuff has only appeared in the past 2-3 weeks even though we have gotten rain before-obviously. I wonder if it has to do with the amount of rain we have been getting? |
