Re: Moderator Election
Historycircus.
If you would have said that at the start you would have got my vote along my with my belief that Exchanger would also make a fantastic mod. This site still seems too pent up for jokes, especially ill recieved jokes, i must confess I was one of those who ill recieved them. That said, that was a nice repair job. Ammit |

"A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself. The word comes from the French language, in which its principal meaning is a shower (it is thus a notorious false friend encountered by non-native speakers of English; the phrase for vaginal douching is douche vaginale, meaning vaginal shower). The word can refer to the rinsing of any body cavity but usually applies to vaginal irrigation, rinsing of the vagina. A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching: a bag for holding the water or fluid used in douching (the term douche bag can also be used as an insult). To avoid transferring intestinal bacteria into the vagina, the same bag must not be used for a vaginal douche and an enema." |

Re: Moderator Election
Moderating is not something you volunteer for.
Moderating is something you are asked to do, if you have earned the right. Then comes a choice of whether you want to or not. |

Re: Moderator Election
No one has to participate if they don't want to, why are you goading people with 'at least you voted', who the hell cares about this subject, but you, history? What are you going to do anyway if you do get voted in? Are you going to storm the baricades, create a new schism, give out about it on another forum.
So the following logic is applied. I want to work at google and so I do a poll of all my mates and they all agree with me (accept a few who wouldn't participate because they don't understand how important it is -fools) that I should definately be allowed work there, cos I'm nice and I can do googly things. I tell google this but they are so corrupt that they won't listen, so I start by having a protest but they STILL won't let me work there they must be way more corrupt than we thought before etc...... and the half-truths get progagated and passed on and as the rules of chinese whispers always win out --- BILL & KERRY ARE TOO CORRUPT TO HONOUR A FORMAL ELECTION blablabla Elections I might add are secret ballot, so maybe start again and refine your campaign promises and have a trully meaningless election just like the real world. I have nothing against you personally but this entitlement thing is getting me down.................................. |

I kind of hoped that everyone here would, but you and others are making it clear that most do not. Thanks! |

Re: Moderator Election
yeah when I was young I hoped democracy worked and that the people in power would care about me and that when you are nice, nice things happen to you and that I would be free and all the rest.
My point is what do you think will happen when you do get the majority that you currently have? What are you going to do? You haven't thought it through very well and why put two obvious red herrings in the poll and give out when people choose them. Would this be yet another ill conceived revolution that changes the faces but not the aims to gain power? If you can't take the good with the bad in your campaign what will happen when you get treated the way the current mods are getting treated................would you be able to be fair to me, now that I openly disagree with you, are you sure? |

I am truly sorry you feel that you live in world where your voice doesn't count. I could not imagine existing thusly, for to do so is to admit defeat, is it not? Anyway, I think I have fought very well the urge to combat the ridicule and baiting that has surrounded this election, especially from the folks who, obviously, did not read that big steaming post I left toward the end of page three. Also, you state that I will get the majority, but by my own criteria, that ain't enough. To win, I must get the consent of at least 1/3 of registered Avalonians. A forty percent lead out of sixty some odd votes is not good enough. One more thing. I've taken my lumps here from time to time for coming across as hostile - one loving individual refers to me sometimes as the "angrycircus." I actually like that - the power to feel and express passion for things I care a great deal about. But some of the folks who have posted to this thread seem pretty angry too - and while I celebrate their impassioned spirit, I question if I am the rightful primary recipient, or just someone who got in the way. As Ozzy would say, "Lay your world on me, I can take the weight." Anyway, vote Historycicus - a man too lazy to start or fight any war, but typically too drunk to ever concede defeat! |

Re: Moderator Election
Oh Historycircus,
You make me smile as a fellow willing to say it anyway in the face of whatever is slung your way. But what are we on the forum for but to change the fact that our voices have failed to overcome the ruling forces. People have gotten rights and votes and equality whatever subject you like because it became obvious to the ruling classes that they couldn't any longer hope to get away with it. So from to time they concede and then change the goalposts again and we go on our merry way believing that we stuck one to the man. While they have in fact been sticking it to us in a million other ways. Do you know what I mean. Like for instance if they had realised it a while ago that to make their slaves comfortable and entertained they actually work harder we might all have had a different history but the outcome would've been the same. I am not downhearted one bit by the whole thing, I know that if each person individually sets about to change their own heart then we can't but win. But this may not look like what anyone thinks, there may not be some 'final showdown' its may just feel like the wind changed and we got some fresh air. take it easy |
