Default Moody Blues -- Tunes for the Times

I found some answers today. I didn't have to read about quantum physics and all that...but its all connected. I just had to dust off my old albums... My gift to Avalon and my friends.

Balance (this one's a must)

Little Blue Ball

other stuff...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnTm8...eature=related

powerful stuff...

Anybody interested in compiling links and lyrics with me? I'll keep adding as I have time.

The Moodies are one of my favorite bands. The Mellotron played by Mike Pinder in the first 7 albums are very spiritual.

O.K. now I'm feelin really old, they were alittle to mellow for me but this thread brings back memories for sure. Ah the good old days! And yes the Alan Parson Project.

Love the Moody Blues..

They were like my 'background music' when I first starting on my path... Many ages ago.

"Lovely to see you again my friend; walk along with me to the next bend..."

Now I REALLY know I've found my 'family'!!!

Just happens I bought the cd of Question of Balance a week ago. Had it on vinyl ages ago. Of all the Moody music in JB HiFi this is the album I bought again!

Re Alan Parsons, Eye in the Sky is one of my favourte albums.

Good music to listen too while watching the decline of the insane global economic empire while honing my (our?) skills in birthing the rise of a saner, more balanced world.

OOOOOhhhh nooooooooooo - a music thread!!! now you have really started me!!! lol

THANKS for reminding me of the Moodies - first time i heard them was back in the 70's and friend brought her older sister's album to school for end of year free time in Primary School - ohh days of innocence!!!

Music IS the voice of the soul in my humble opinion. Its that intangible other that we resonate with and recognise without the need for language and it has been a huge part of my life.

I love all types of music across the board - yeah even rap!!! Who can NOT love a good primal beat.

Would love to share a couple of songs that make my soul sing - dont know if i can work out how to paste them in here.

If not please just to humour me - find these 2 songs by the Flaming Lips

"hypnotist"
"morning of the magician"

ohhh the primal beat - the organic background sounds, the voice from the heart and that something other that leads me into another world.

I would like to think we as a humanity are "on the threshold of a dream
" but the dream we have seems to be turning sour. So we obviously must still 'search for the lost chord"

Saw The Moody Blues in London about 35/40 years ago. Chuck Berry was on the same bill. Great times. "Go Now". Denny Lane with Paul in wings some years later. Mike Pinder the Searchers. It was an all star band. Same Bill were Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce cant remember the band but they formed Cream with Eric Clapton. At last we are talking about something important.

Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
That removes the colors from our sight,
Red is gray and yellow is white,
We decide which is right,
And which is,
An illusion.

Brave Helios wake up thine steeds,
Bring the warmth that the countryside needs.

Here are some lyrics
The first set is a section from the song 46&2 by Tool: It is about the next step in evolution for humans. Tool is singing about our spiritual awakening which in theory would cause us to evolve physically into a different being hence 46 chromosomes plus 2.

Forty-Six & 2 lyrics
My shadow's
Shedding skin and
I've been picking
Scabs again.
I'm down
Digging through
My old muscles
Looking for a clue.

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding in

My shadow.
Change is coming through my shadow.
My shadow's shedding skin
I've been picking
My scabs again.

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic
And insecure delusions.

I wanna feel the change consume me,
Feel the outside turning in.
I wanna feel the metamorphosis and
Cleansing I've endured within

My shadow
Change is coming.
Now is my time.
Listen to my muscle memory.
Contemplate what I've been clinging to.
Forty-six and two ahead of me.

I choose to live and to
Grow, take and give and to
Move, learn and love and to
Cry, kill and die and to
Be paranoid and to
Lie, hate and fear and to
Do what it takes to move through.

I choose to live and to
Lie, kill and give and to
Die, learn and love and to
Do what it takes to step through.

See my shadow changing,
Stretching up and over me.
Soften this old armor.
Hoping I can clear the way
By stepping through my shadow,
Coming out the other side.
Step into the shadow.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me

BRIGHT EYES

Lyrics to Four Winds :
Your class, your caste, your country, sect, your name or your tribe
There's people always dying trying to keep them alive
There's bodies decomposing in containers tonight
In an abandoned building where
Squatters made a mural of a Mexican girl
With fifteen cans of spray paint and a chemical swirl
She's standing in the ashes at the end of the world
Four winds blowing through her hair
But when great Satan's gone... the Whore of Babylon...
She just can't sustain the pressure where it's placed
She caves
The Bible's blind, the Torah's deaf, the Qur'ans mute
If you burn them all together you get close to the truth still
They're pouring over Sanskrit on the Ivy League moons
While shadows lengthen in the sun
Cast all the school and meditation built to soften the times
And hold us at the center while the spiral unwinds
It's knocking over fences crossing property lines
Four winds, cry until it comes
And it's the sum of man
Slouching towards Bethlehem
A heart just can't contain all of that empty space
It breaks. It breaks. It breaks
Well I went back, I rented Cadillac, a company jet
Like a newly orphaned refugee retracing my steps
All the way to Cassadaga to commune with the dead
They said, "You'd better look alive"
And I was off to old Dakota where a genocide sleeps
In the Black Hills, the Badlands, the calloused east
I buried my ballast, I made my peace
The four winds, leveling the pines

But when great Satan's gone... the Whore of Babylon...
She just can't remain with all that outer space
She breaks. She breaks. She caves. She caves.

BRIGHT EYES

Lyrics to Clairaudients (Kill Or Be Killed) :
Corporate or Colonial
The Movement is unstoppable
Like the body of a centerfold it spreads
To the counter-culture copyright
Get your revolution at a lower price
Or make believe and throw the fight, play dead
It's exploding bags, aerosol cans
Southbound buses, Peter Pan
They left it up to us again
I thought you knew the drill
It's kill or be killed

Future Markets, Holy Wars
Been tried ten thousand times before
If you think that God is keeping score, Hooray!
For the freedom-fighting simulcast
The imminent and the aftermath
Draw another bloody bath to drain
Like the polar icecaps centrifuge
First snowman built at the end of June
He slicks his hair for the interview, his fifteen-minute fame
Would you agree times have changed?

Talking Re: Moody Blues -- Tunes for the Times

Thanks Fuglybuger, This thread is after my own heart!
Though I have found great truth in a wide range of music over the years, the Moody’s
have had a special place in my heart for along time. I even named my youngest son, who was home delivered, after Justin Hayward. I’ve been blessed to see them live a few times.
Here is a couple of my favorites, there are many!!!

From the other side of life 1986.
I cried when I listened to these words.
IT MAY BE A FIRE

It may be a fire
Tomorrow it could be nothing (to late)
It may reach out to the sky
Light up everthing I know
Everywhere you go from now
You will see better than before
People you’ve not know for years
Will come knocking at your door.
It may be a fire
But ya gotta get it into your heart

It may be a warm wind
That tries to blow your heart away
It may walk into your life
Tell you everything that you know
Looking down thru all the years
Making plans that have gone past
Something that you’ve not known for years
But you know that it would last.
It may be a fire
But you gotta get it into your heart.

I’m turning all the answers
Inside out.
Looking for a love
That reaches out
Of the fire (oh the fire its in my heart)
In to your heart.

Repeat

Next song:

The Spirit

The sun and Moon everyday
Day and nite, mark my play

See the future in the past
Try to change it or make it last
Go for broke, don’t regreat
Get your hand dirty, get your feet wet
Take your place, use me well
I’m in you’re hands, so make me tell
A broken dream seems unkind
But I can help you, for I am time.

I can heal you
Its not a matter of slight
Only of sound.
Let me…feel for you (then you can)
Feel for yourself
The love all around
I can….lead you
Is your soul afraid
Of what you’ve made
Do you know the way
the SPIRIT goes

All around on the wind
Distant whispers of what I bring
In the day in the night
Locked in words of lovers delight
If I am lost or mislaid
Just keep looking don’t be afraid
In the eye on the mind
I’m everywhere and yours to find
I’m not far just discover (close at hand)
IAM in you for IAM LOVE (sang Iam not far close at hand for iam you)

Thanks ) Hey grey beard whatup(
