Topics include: -Dangerous Plants and Animals -Food and Water -Navigation -General Urban and Wilderness Preparedness -Evasion Techniques -Much more......." ************************************************** ***************************************** Moderator Edit: Sorry Phtha, but I have had to remove the link until I can verify the copyright status of the contents, which may take some time. Re: Torrent: 230+ Survival Books
Cool post Phtha.
I'll get my nephew to show me how to download it. I posted a thread concerning The Secret Fire. It's an article by Mark yarvish from Hermetic.com so you may have read it. If not the link is in there. The link takes you to hermetics.org which is a good resource too. Cheers, Chris. |

Re: 230+ Survival Books
Has anyone verified this torrent virus malware free?
I got one of my worst bombs from such a book archive, resulted in rebuilding the operating system from scratch... |

Re: 230+ Survival Books
I am downloading it now. I will unpack it and inspect it.
I use a quarantine virtual machine for this and up to date virus checking tools. I will also give a non-expert opinion on the copyright status. A.. |

Re: 230+ Survival Books
It's safe, no executables.
As a rule I never download executables. Most of them turned out to be documents rather then full books. I would guess most are not copyright. Last edited by Phtha; 09-25-2008 at 05:16 AM. |

Re: 230+ Survival Books
The archive is a zip file and contains within it some other zip files.
After recursively unpacking it all, I see there are over 2000 files! PDF's, HTML pages and good old TXT files. I checked it all with NOD ESET 32 and McAfee both with up-to-date definitions and no viruses or malware was seen in any of it. It is a real treasure trove. I cannot say that there are no copyright breaches. There are some PDF files that look like they may have been constructed from published books but it is not clear if permission for that to happen was given. Many other files that comprise its content are HTML files - which look like they may simply be saved web pages. A.. |
