School children shouting" assassinate Obama" and more racism

It is so hard for me to comprehend we still live in a world of such hate. Please do all you can to stand against racism. It made me cry as I listened about 3rd and 4th graders chanting" Assassinate Obama" after the election. I thought we had come further than this. When my children got off the bus the day before the election, all of the kids were shouting "John McCain, John McCain" My boys felt so out of place and didn't understand. Of course, I can't move. Can't sell my house. Stuck in vanilla suburbia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really sad because children learn racism they aren't born with it. My heart go out to all who feel such a need for these type of demonstrations.

Well, the kids around here were screaming Obama!! all day after the election. That disturbed my kids a bit. You see, things can and do irritate both ways. Think about that before jumping on a high horse.

How utterly sad that you think of your neighborhood in such terms, Tara. Move to the inner city for awhile and see where you'd prefer to live.

This has nothing to do with her original post. She's talking about racism among 3rd and 4th graders.

I don't care if they were shouting Obama. I *DO* care if they were shouting "Assassinate Obama".

It was done in a way that made my kids uncomfortable. I shouldn't have posted the part about my kids. This post was intended for discussion about the article I found disturbing. Don't want to start any debate.
