Solar Ovens
I have been looking into solar ovens lately and was gonna make one myself but I just don't have time so I ordered one today I ordered one of these. update they were 4 weeks out so I cancelled the order and I'm back to making my own, i will add links as I find good info

I've used solar ovens a lot. There was a three month period back in 2005 where I deliberately used only my solar oven for cooking and I didn't starve or lose weight. There's a new design out that looks promising called a 'solar cone'. I'm hoping to build one in the next few months so I'll post the results if I get it done.
Interesting solar oven trivia...there was a program to introduce solar ovens to a particular region of Africa in hopes that it would help decrease instances of pulmonary disease caused from wood fire cooking indoors. The project flopped because the tribes in the areas believed the Sun to be 'the devil' so refused to eat anything prepared with this 'evil' energy. |
