Default Huge fireball spotted over Ireland on Feb. 3, 2010

Here is the report from the Irish Times.
The Times quoted Tommy Moore from Astronomy Ireland: “A major explosion happened in the sky over Ireland. We think it’s a fireball, that’s a rock from space the earth has slammed into and they burn up as huge shooting stars. This one appears to have lit up the whole country. The phones here in Astronomy Ireland are going crazy.”

Cool! Thank-you lightwalker. I just watched a FOX interview with Michio Kaku regarding this event. He said they don't know exactly what it was. It could have possibly been an asteroid collision. Or...was this a rare glimpse of a possible Star War over our heads. Hmmmm. Here is a previous interview with Michio Kaku regarding an asteroid hunter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR2lEZXjUdE I guess we are phasing out the Space Shuttle...and for the next five years we will need to get permission from the Russians to go into space (via conventional means, at least)! Here is what could happen if the asteroid hunter malfunctions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFwnGiu9eV8 Beware of Aimed Asteroids aka Drac Attacks.

Namaste

I have realplayer & Firefox could not open it or was "not responding". I'm so fed up with Firefox over the last 2 months or so....keeps doing this same thing. Firefox not responding & my screen freezes.

Anyone else having trouble with Firefox?

I think this is some of the footage:

I love the "with a force of a small nuclear weapon" suggestion.
