Is this creating much of a Vibe over in Ireland or elsewhere? Are any major news companies covering it?
Pretty exciting for sure, not a peep of it here in Canada.

Hello everyone,

Just an update on where we are with this. The following is a press release from Steorn.

Testing - Orbo Technology Update

On 30th January 2010 Steorn announced that it would make Orbo technology available for testing at the Waterways Visitor Centre.

Since then Steorn has been hosting third-party testing and finalising calorimetry tests. This third-party testing will continue until the end of February.

Steorn will make the results of the calorimetry tests available alongside other test data in the coming weeks. These results will be pivotal to a widespread uptake of Developer (and ultimately, Commercial) Licenses. Steorn will open the SKDB to the general engineering community after these test results have been released.

Developers wishing to come and test Orbo technology at the Waterways should make a booking at http://www.steorn.com/demo/bookings/ .

Ends

So basically until the 26th Feb, there are daily independent tests being carried out by both commercial interests and private developers who are interested in adopting Orbo technology for product development. Independent calorimetry results will also be made available on confirming more output energy.

Keep checking the blog for developments as I don't post everything here on Project Avalon.

Cheers,

I've been following this quite closely. Steorn seems extremely transparent. I don't know how they could be more transparent actually. I don't understand why no one seems to take them seriously. At least when I bring up the subject anyway.

They demonstrate their claims right in front of you. They invite the public to test it themselves. For 400 pounds you can get the development plans. What more could you ask for?

My question to 007 then, since you're even more deeply into it than I am, have you seen any claims from anyone that the current incarnation of Orbo does NOT do what Steorn is claiming it does? Is there any doubt in anyones mind that has actually tested the technology?

Also, what do you get with the development package? Blueprints?

Hi Seafury,

I've been a beta-tester in the Steorn private area since 2007. Since that time I've no reason to doubt Steorn's claims, in fact we are privy to non-public reports, tests and other supporting data that backs the claims going back years. The Steorn guys are all genuinely nice and very normal engineering types. They were fortunate enough to discover the anomaly and since going public have recieved nothing but the ususal sniggers and debunking from elements of our controlled media, academia and scientific establishment.

Back a few years ago they tried to get scientific agreement behind closed doors by approaching about 100 different institutions and universities. Out of that they were able to persuade 8 to test. All of these 8 confirmed anomalous gains of energy but NONE WOULD GO PUBLIC to aid disclosure due to the ridicule factor of being associated with perpetual motion claims.

It was at that point that they decicided to publish the now famous advert that appeared in the Economist.

There are many skilled builders in the SKDB who are replicating rigs using Orbo configurations right now and as you may have seen, one of our guys ClaNZeR was instrumental in providing test rigs for many members to replicate with.

This link will give you a flavour of the kind of stuff going on.

The version of Orbo being commercialised is the Electromagnetic verison dubbed eOrbo. It is configured so as to decouple the back emf experienced with a normal motor. Not harvest it or do something funky with it, but to eliminate it's existence completely. As a result of the cancellation of CEMF then the motor can achieve many times overunity as the motion of the rotor is not being pulled back by the CEMF.

Right now as we speak testing is going on by commercial companies and individuals who'd like to do product development using Orbo. That testing finishes on Friday 26th (tomorrow). In the following weeks we expect the results of the independent tests and also full independent calorimetry results to be made public followed by the doors opening to the public / research / engineers / any other interested parties.

Having been around intimately involved with this process since 2006, I have no doubt as to the validity of the claims.

The next step is independent confirmation in the form of 3rd party replications and when the SKDB opens I've no doubt that it won't take too long until we see that.

I'll keep the forum updated with new developments.

Also worthy of note is this attempted replication by French engineer JL Naudin. He has experimentally confirmed amny of the Steorn Orbo effects including the CANCELLATION OF Back EMF in his own build.

Orbo Testing Update

There appears to quite a high demand from commercial interests wishing to test Orbo. Steorn published the following on their site in the last few hours:

"The Waterways will remain open for a further three weeks, until Friday 19th March, due to additional applications from third parties interested in testing Orbo technology."

See my blog post here:

If they are for real, i mean the technology is really OU, then it's wonderfull.the sad point to this storry till now: first they have said they have a permanent magnet motor, then problems with bearings, then after some very long time it comes to a demo but to be honest you have to admit it shows NO OU. on the other hand, if you are part of the private party, can you testify that you have seen any signs of OU (real scientific data) or do you know by now how to get OU?can you show the world out there a real running orbo(not that showed by the demo)?any signs of a OU device?
i don't think so.
and btw i do know ppl that wanted to test the device displayed but get no response from steorn, one of them is a TU Berlin professor.i for myself also did not get a response from them, not even a formally autogenerated one, nada.
in the world of bussiness the seriousity is damn important and they do lack of it.

Hi tsl,

The first incarnation of Orbo was a permanent magnet version - you are correct. A lot of time has passed since then and the Electromagnetic version is a much newer development which is (to be perfectly honest) much more suited for the commercial market and far easier to engineer.

The demo that they just did was using the EM version which ran on their own ZeroF bearings to minimise friction and radial forces. I was satisfied that the demo showed OU clearly, but then I've been looking at this for some time now. It was not an attempt to convince a sceptical public. The demo was more aimed at electrical / mechanical engineers and product developers.

I know exactly how the PM and EM versions work and it's very clever engineering indeed. I've seen third-party engineering report validations as well as witnessed practical experimental confirmation of the effect.

The rigs shown in the demo were roughly 300% efficient at only roughly 1300 rpm. The good news is that Orbo efficiency increases with speed as the pulse width becomes shorter.

I'm sorry you haven't got a testing slot, but they were pretty clear that priority would be given to commercial testers first. As far as I know they have been heavily oversubscribed for testing slots. It's not my decision otherwise I'd invite your professor friend.

I admire him for the simple fact he has maintained an open mind and is even willing to go test for himself.

The independent calorimetry data (from a German company I believe) will be posted soon and will provide further proof that Orbo is indeed overunity.

Also the SKDB opens soon and you will be able to go in and judge for yourself and see how the tech works.

Cheers,

007

Hi 007,
so you*re saying that you know how the pm version work?is that also learned inside the skdb?i must confess that is this one configuration that i find most exciting and solving difficult engineering problems was/is my day in day out life.
anyway if they show in the skdb how a pm version is made i'll join.

Hi 007,

I saw the video, but didn't see the info that claimed 300% OU.. where did you see that?

The criticism I saw posted on video was the fact that they've been on this for 6 years, and haven't come up with a prototype that can light a light bulb. I don't know what is the demonstrated OU factor... It can be OU. but still be too small to be practical for development.
