Anti-Gun Land Bill On The Move
All Guns Will Be Confiscated By September 2009 SEE Page #2, Post #33
POST #23 Anti-Gun Rights Bill Defeated in the House Anti-Gun Land Bill On The Move Full Article Here: http://gunowners.org/a021009.htm Lost in all the news of the massive bailout bill that just passed the Senate is another enormous bill, one that increases federal control of public and private land. Of particular concern to gun owners is that the bill, S. 22, will greatly expand the amount of land controlled by the National Park Service. NPS land is currently subject to a gun ban... Dem’s Use “Stimulus” as Cover for More Gun Control Full Article Here: http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/8460 By CCRKBA Friday, February 13, 2009 Dear Concerned Citizen, The liberals are at it again. In a new bill introduced the first day of the present session of Congress, and with zero coverage from the MSM, H.R. 45 (Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009) targets all gun owners in the U.S.A. While the media the world and everyone else is focused on the “phony plan” to spend tax dollars legislation is sneeking through the House and Senate for more gun control. This nefarious bill seeks to strip us all of our Constitutional Rights to possess and bear firearms of any distinction. It requires, within the first two years, that all new guns be registered. The bill goes retroactive after two years. Meaning that two years after the passage of the bill, ALL FIREARMS in a citizen’s possession must be registered, not just those purchased after the bill passes, and this apparently applies to antique firearms as well. Re: Anti-Gun Land Bill On The Move
I like how they immediately blame liberals for this. That's the type of response they are conditioned to give whenever they feel threatened.
I'm for responsible gun ownership, not gun bans. |

Re: Anti-Gun Land Bill On The Move
this is not new stuff for canada. the federal govt has wasted billions of dollars on the canadian gun registry and, after years, still has only registered a smmall percentage of the guns in canada. mainly police, military and a few law-abiding city folks have registered theirs. there are a lot of old farmers that have never broken a law, that are now criminals due to owning illegal guns.
don't worry though, 'cause anyone with a license can buy your ammo for you. |

Re: Anti-Gun Land Bill On The Move
Regardless of how I view gun laws, I will always think of guns as negative devices because they kill and maim. They do not accomplish anything positive, except for saving the lives of people, which can be done using methods other than weapons.

There are other ways to hunt and protect that don't involve using such a device. But, if you want to own and use a gun, be my guest. I will just respectfully disagree. |

What the 2nd Amendment is for
What the 2nd Amendment is for
Listen to this young woman tell legislators that the purpose of the 2nd Amendment is not to protect the right to hunt ducks. It's about protecting all of us from you guys!!! Armed citizens Gandhi and Jefferson liked the idea Hitler and Stalin hated it. You don't have to like guns to understand what the 2nd Amendment is for. New Calls for Assault-Gun Ban
New Calls for Assault-Gun Ban
MARCH 13, 2009 By ALEX ROTH, PAULO PRADA and COREY DADE Gun-control activists have renewed calls for the federal government to reinstate a ban on so-called assault weapons in the wake of Tuesday's deadly shooting rampage in Alabama. Stricter national gun-control laws face dim prospects in Washington, however, despite Democratic control of Congress and the White House. Gun sales have soared in the months since the presidential election, due in part to fears among gun owners that President Barack Obama intends to ban assault weapons, or guns that can fire rounds more quickly than standard weapons. In November, a record 1,529,635 background checks were performed on firearms sales, up 42% from the same period a year earlier, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A 24% year-over-year increase followed in December, with similar increases so far this year. Background checks are considered a measure of sales because they are required during any sale of a new weapon from a federally licensed retailer, or if a weapon is sold or reclaimed from a pawn shop. While Mr. Obama supports reinstating the assault-weapons ban, he also is confronting numerous other matters, such as the economy and health care. He also would face stiff opposition in Congress from his own party. In recent weeks, powerful Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.), have expressed opposition to renewing the federal assault-weapons ban, which was enacted in 1994 under President Bill Clinton. The ban bars the sale of certain semiautomatic weapons. The law expired in 2004. Article continues: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/wire.php?view=3350 NEWS RELEASE Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms 12500 N.E. Tenth Place Bellevue, WA 98005 OBAMA LIED TO GUN OWNERS, SAYS CCRKBA; ATTACK PLAN REVEALED BY HOLDER For Immediate Release: February 26, 2009 Source: http://www.ccrkba.org/pub/rkba/press....gunowners.htm Website: http://www.ccrkba.org/ BELLEVUE, WA – As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama deliberately and repeatedly lied to America’s 90 million gun owners across the country when he insisted that he would not try to take away anyone’s firearms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today. CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, reacting to yesterday’s remarks by Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder that the president will seek to reinstate the ban on semi-automatic firearms, said Obama “knew he was lying to the nation because his own website touted his plan to revive the gun ban and make it permanent.” “We warned America that Obama’s ‘support’ for the Second Amendment was empty rhetoric,” he stated, “and now Holder’s disclosure has confirmed it. Obama was lying, and now gun rights may be dying.” Several times on the campaign trail, Obama told voters “I’m not going to take your guns away.” He said it at rallies in Duryea, Pennsylvania and in Boise, Idaho. He also told a news conference that “Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear I think people can take me at my word.” “Right now,” said Gottlieb, “I wouldn’t take Obama’s word if he said it rains a lot in Seattle. Apparently, law-abiding gun owners have nothing to fear unless they own sport-utility rifles, semiautomatic shotguns, handguns and any other firearm that Obama and his anti-gun attorney general don’t like. “Thanks to Eric Holder, who has been far more honest than his boss about his anti-gun philosophy, it is now clear that the new president doesn’t support the Second Amendment at all,” he observed. “American gun owners should remind Democrats in Congress that the Second Amendment means what it says, especially when the president doesn’t.” With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States. The Citizens Committee can be reached by phone at (425) 454-4911, on the Internet at www.ccrkba.org or by email to InformationRequest@ccrkba.org. |

Gun Makers and Retailers Post Strong Sales Increases
Gun Makers and Retailers Post Strong Sales Increases
By Natalie Zmuda Published: March 09, 2009 Sour Economy, Potential for Tightened Regulations Drive Buyers to Firearms Last paragraph: On the manufacturing side, publicly traded firearm manufacturers, such as Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger & Co. are enjoying strong sales and relatively steadier stock prices. Smith & Wesson said aside from the 40% growth in pistol sales in its most recent quarter, tactical rifle sales soared 308%. Sturm, Ruger & Co. reported an 81% increase in firearms revenue. In a message on its website, Rock River Arms, which specializes in custom rifles and pistols, cites an "overwhelming increase in orders" in explaining why it can no longer provide estimated delivery dates, and notes that it is increasing production. Attention!! Due to new government regulations concerning the purchasing of surplus brass, we are removing sales of all 223 and all 308 until further notice. Below is a copy of the email we received from Government Liquidations. "Effective immediately DOD Surplus, LLC, will be implementing new requirements for mutilation of fired shell casings. The new DRMS requirement calls for DOD Surplus personnel to witness the mutilation of the property and sign the Certificate of Destruction. Mutilation of the property can be done at the DRMO, if permitted by the Government, or it may be mutilated at a site chosen by the buyer. Mutilation means that the property will be destroyed to the extent prevents its reuse or reconstruction. DOD Surplus personnel will determine when property has been sufficiently mutilated to meet the requirements of the Government. " This is a huge waste of taxpayer's money. The value of these products is reduced by 80% by going from a recycled product to a scrap product. CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN!!!!!!!!! http://georgia-arms.com/index.aspx |

Illinois Bill Would Require Gun Owners to Buy $1M in Liability Insurance
Illinois Bill Would Require Gun Owners to Buy $1M in Liability Insurance
February 18, 2009 An Illinois state lawmaker is proposing that gun owners be required to carry personal liability insurance of at least $1 million. Rep. Kenneth Dunkin's bill seeks to amend the state's Firearm Owners Identification Card Act to provides that any person who owns a firearm in the state maintain a $1 million or higher policy of liability insurance "specifically covering any damages resulting from negligent or willful acts involving the use of such firearm while it is owned by such person." A gun owner would be responsible after a firearm is lost or stolen until the loss or theft is reported to the police department or sheriff of the jurisdiction in which the owner resides. Police would be empowered to pull the gun license of anyone who does not submit evidence of having the required insurance. The measure is now in the House Rules Committee.
