Lightbulb How to Dissolve Emotionally Charged Threads (and people)

Hello friends,
First I want to make it clear that there is nothing wrong with emotions or being emotionally charged. The intention of this thread is to make people aware of a technique that can help them better understand the true intention of the 'author' of any said body of work, a book, a thread on a forum, an article, or whatever else. I decided to bring this up because there is a lot of emotions being flung back and forth that really distract not only themselves, but other people from the original intent of the message.

I have been doing this myself for sometime so I can say it works great. I'm sure many of you reading this do it as well, without even knowing you are. I recently found out that it is what the Alchemists called and still do call: "dissolving texts".

The technique is really quite simple, when reading any text temporarily put aside all of the emotional aspects of it, even if the emotions are directed at you and they offend your ego. Understand that the person writing the text, especially if emotionally charged, is generally trying to get a point across that is dear to them. They are allowing their own ego and emotions to cloud the clarity of the message.

By doing this, not only do you dissolve your own emotions that can often cloud your judgement and thus corrupt your response, which often makes one appear just as bad as the person they are dueling with, but is also has another key benefit:

It gives you a gift of clarity which a) allows you to see the true intent of the message and b) allows you to better understand the true nature of the person behind the message.

There are many more benefits that come from reading text in this fashion, but I will allow you to discover these yourself should you put this simple technique into practice.

This works for all texts, and alchemist will say that when reading ancient spiritual text it is important to put yourself in the shoes of the person who wrote the text - who just had a profound spiritual experience and are trying to allegoricalize it into a story that can best try and explain what they felt in human terms.

So again, be emotional, allow yourself to go with the flow, but try not to have your clarity clouded by it.
