Thousads of planets like earth
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/n...891132.stm?lss
Hmmm, whoever said they can find a sugar, but can't find a planet, gee, what's wrong with this picture LOL. Yep, letting us in on the truth, dot by dot. This should put some of the religions on their ears. alys |

Re: Thousads of planets like earth
Hi alysat,
"Recent work at Edinburgh University tried to quantify how many intelligent civilisations might be out there. The research suggested there could be thousands of them." It took all this time for them to come up with just this?? I still find it suprising that Alan Boss only thinks there are 'simple' life forms out there. What arrogance to assume that we on Earth are the most intelligent forms of life in our Galaxy. Also these comments could be to pressure the US government to sponsor NASA more, in spite of the recent scandals that NASA has gone through in diverting funds and hiding sometimes important information. Oh well..... Best regards, Steve Quote:

Re: Thousads of planets like earth
The article says "billions of Earths", not thousands, which I believe is true.
It doesn't take an Einstein to figure that one out. Well, only 500 years ago we believed the Earth was flat. There will be a day when everyone will realize the universe is full of life. Hopefully, I'll live long enough to see that, but I doubt it. A first (televised) contact would help. |

I agree, Humble Janitor.
Here is another article that fits into this thread: Alien life may be all around us (or even in us), says professor http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...professor.html |
