Hey Kula;

Deteriorata was written by the folk at the National Lampoon, right after
Desiderata came out. T'was done in the mode of Blazing Saddles, whose sub-title was "Never give a saga an even break (Mel Brooks will go down in history).

I too reach a saturation point around here, almost daily, of late.

It helps to reach for the truly decent humanitarian act...

Stand up, and run screaming from the room, and go do something else, while the plumbing backs up, round here. Then... have another go.

Fred

Yes I just have to know.

Usually I don't go more than 48 hours without checking out all the forums I frequent, see what the crowd are talking about and whats new.

I suppose forums are my newspaper and intellectual discussion venue.

But how long do I spend on forums? well it varies, from day to day, maybe theres a particular topic that keeps me hooked and coming back.

If I'm free, a couple of hours spent on forums is well worth the time, but if I'm busy with life's hardships then only a couple minutes.

You're not alone though, I remember when I used to spend like 20 hours a day on forums. Its good for a while, addicting, but like any addiction, the taste inevitably becomes all too regular after a while, but thats a good thing! its makes you find loopholes and creating fixed shifts where you go on and then off again appropriately, with regards to whatever you do in life.

Well , I'm going to see Brian Gerrish in totnes, devon tonight...

And you're all invited !!

I'll be the one in the white jacket - with the arms going around the back

Yes... I watched this site off and on, during the paid subscription...(once a ground crew, always the ground crew I say) but posting is far more addictive than reading. It's a combination of very important issues and it works on many levels I think.

Lightblue is right, a forum is not the place to seek help for getting away from a forum, but I'm not really seeking help... I'm more interested if this affects members like it affects me, because I've not seen anyone else posting about this, and yet ironically it must be a fundamental topic to all at avalon (I'd have thought).

How to juggle saving the world with hoovering and gardening. I suppose I best go watch the Incredibles again for some tips...

best wishes to you all and thanks all for your input in this.
And for making me laugh.

Just remember...if it gets too much... join me here at AA (Avalonians Anonymnous!)

Yo Kulapops,
perhaps you should start watching tv!
But seriously, as long as you find satisfaction in what you're doing, I wouldn't worry that much.

Lol remember that feeling well ,going to bed at 3 4 am then getting up 7 am dealing with kids one hand other tapping away on laptop.

I get out into nature more now, since Nexus sacred site meditaton in July 2009(wiltshire),i have ended up moving there and am now living in a barge on the canal.

So now i have more time to be in tune with nature and myself.

I get online now and then, but when i do i dont feel the need have a peek an update and hello to few friends ,then quite happy to turn off.

So my advice would be get out more into nature and enjoy the wonders abound..

I am happily " addicted " to Avalon since over a year now.
I am here daily since I realized within days of opening the
magic gates that I was reconnecting with my soul family .
The joy and Love that came out of this was so strong that
I had to hold onto the walls for several weeks in an attempt not to take off.

I spend hours here besides my daily work .
The only time I left the forum for a few days was to meet my nexus friends
on real grounds .The love bond we experienced was so deep that we found it hard to part .

I truly love you .. all of you .. there is 'nt one soul here I don't cherish and honor.
You are very special .It seems to me we made that appointment
long ago to meet each other and share our respective paths and the wisdom
we gathered on our way.
From you I learned so much and in so little time .

I feel that as long as the Love grows no time is wasted .
Each love seed planted in anyone's heart is travelling the whole world.
And Love my dear friends is the most sacred key you'll ever hold in your hands.
For with a closen heart is there really any place to go ?

So Kula if it was only for knowledge and chatting do you believe you would be so addicted ?
Or is it maybe something else about Avalon that makes it such a fascinating place ?

Love from me

I can fix your addiction with a few clicks However I wont because I dont know if you have access to sharp implements or not.

Perhaps we should set up an "Addicts" group - then everyone in that group will be prevented from accessing Avalon for one day per week, and one full week per month.

Okay guys I need a fixed, is this the addicts thread so I guess I am in the right place. It would be good if we can attract millions of addicts like us.
Oh I swore I was not going to post anything today , really , really. You guys believe me right !!! gee there's got to be a way to kick this habit , or maybe not, ummm I wonder. I guess I'm going to have to research this a bit further.

Yep.. this is the addicts thread alright.

We're gonna have to face it we're addicted to love !

I agree with everything posted. Yes.. it feels like a great cause.. and you're all great souls. Allsouls ??

lol...

well I've had a pint of guiness and am just finishing one small glass of wine (earthly addictions are fine in moderation... and anyway I've got a kidney cleanse coming up soon courtesy of Andreas Moritz -- Thanks Connecting With Sauce for the introduction to him by the way...) Now I have 20 days without coffee, alcohol and chocolate to look forward too... so you may all be seeing me vent my other addiction during that period for sure!

Fred , you crack me up.. I think we have the same sense of humour. ( I hope that's not self aggrandisation on my part btw)

Yes... I know about the door to the world outside. But freedom of choice... that's the problem. Anchor.. I like the idea of self inflicted bans if that were possible... bl**Dy frustrating... but I like the idea of being frozen out at least a week a month for my own good !!

Anyway... if you spend all day every day on here peeps, what's there to write about ?!

It's not like the world is ending or anything is it ?????

Love you all

I've tried to quit many, many times...but I lack the willpower. My self-esteem is at an all-time low. Oh wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from Project Avalon? I've even prayed about it. I fully expect to be in therapy very soon...sobbbing 'Doctor...it all started with that damn Avalon!!!' Maybe I need a cult member reprogrammer to save me! Next time someone asks 'mind if I smoke?'...I'll quickly reply 'not if you don't mind if I log onto Project Avalon!' This is what happened to two fine citizens who let their internet addictions get out of control. (viewer discretion advised) They spent hours and hours each day...researching conspiracies, extraterrestrials, ufo's, the secret government, and esoteric spirituality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ozk7fnKilU See what happens? Don't let this happen to you. Get help...now. Maybe I won't have to worry about Avalon when the Jesuits lock me up in a monastery somewhere. (like the 'prison' Leo was in) Please make it France (close to Saint Sulpice) or Italy (Sorrento maybe - I once attended a very old Roman Catholic church there)...and make sure there's a little tracker pipe-organ in the chapel. If it's not too much trouble. Actually...perhaps the Monks and the Amish have the right idea...and I'm very serious. We really need to live more simply and devotionally. Just as long as I have my fast internet!

Namaste

yea i've been hearing natures call as well. as odd as it is i've been climbing lots of trees... especially this one holly tree in my backyard where i'll just go up there and read. its a really surreal experience to just get up high in a tree and be in your own world and meditate or just enjoy the height and view.

im thinking the neighbors are starting to wonder about me tho

I tell you Carriblu... there is something very spiritual and 'other' about Holly... they are very surreal. I went through this whole wood of it once and it felt like it was another realm.

Orthodoxy.. you hang in there brother!... Brother Anchor will squeeze your broadband feed to a drip if you need help to get away

Look at me.. 2:10 am... and I'm on a roll.... I think these things go in waves... it's ok to connect into the cosmic energy that is Avalon...for a bit...especially when there's something to say.

I feel like I've had a lot to say recently. I hope calm will prevail

Just know that if you're having trouble logging off...you'll always find a sympathetic ear here.... TV is not the answer I'm sure... but maybe another addiction...hmm.. let me see... I could get addicted to guitar practice instead. That could be useful...

Ah, Kula, give yerself a break. I mean, don't knock your head about Avalon. First, it's better than tv. Second, it's interactive, which is better than just sloshing through the net without any other people commenting and connecting. Third, it's Winter. What else is there to do? We have connected, all of us, through our gloom and doom phases, and then on, to our solutions phase. Nothing wrong with finding joy in community. You, across the big water, are now my neighbor, and we're debating together, all of us, just like on the front porches of earlier times. The new front porch is now a forum. What's so kool is that we can talk with our "neighbors" from all over the world. What we are finding out is that we are more similar than we are different. A very big step for the humans. It was time for us to figure all of this out...maybe we will refuse to let our leaders start wars among us once we recognize those similarities.

Avalon isn't an addiction unless the chores aren't getting done...Linda

Mudra, if you so chose, you can see God in everything you look at. All objects around you will take on new meaning.

But don't get too involved with all these objects than you don't keep spreading the love at Avalon.
