Re: Donnie Darko
Awesome movie! Though I highly recommend seeing the directors cut which explains what's going on a bit better...

Re: Donnie Darko
Seen the original numerous times (one of my all time greatest films) and directors cut once but not for a long time since i started knowledge seeking. I normally have a nice way of forgetting films so i can enjoy them just as much a few years later. I dont remember anything to do with the gland in the film but I will be watching the cut version again soon.

Re: Donnie Darko
Its the kind of movie where you tell someone to watch it, and they either come back and tell you it was awesome, confusing but awesome, or totally confusing. In college, I found it was a good gauge of getting an initial reading on how open minded someone was.
I was originally turned on to the movie by this girl I dated the summer before college. She was really into this movie and always put it on when I came over, suffice to say we never actually watched it. Later I actually watched the whole movie and I thought it could be thought-provoking, in a Hollywood sort of way. I just found myself wanting to distance myself from it when I saw all these whiny emo-kids latching on to it as the greatest thing of all time. I always just hoped that they were actually getting the point of the movie, instead of the whole emo aspect. This is one of the few movies that I actually own today, I still recommend it to anyone! |

Re: Donnie Darko
Yeah, its one of these films that feels custom made for you only. Definetively one of the modern classics!
Heres my favourite track from the film, by the australian/ british band "the Church". Great band, still active. This song certainly gives the film a nice vibe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNhR-PrTAFE |
