Talking Is voting third party a wasted vote?

Who is your favorite Third Party Candidate?
Do you believe it is a wasted vote?
Feel free to comment on any of them: Barr, McKinney, Nader, Baldwin

There is more than two candidates.

Voting Your Conscience for a Third Party Candidate Is Not a Wasted Vote.

By Chuck Baldwin

Quote:
When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don't want to waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don't think so.

In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils." Or, in the case of John McCain and Barack Obama, what we have is a choice between the "evil of two lessers."

Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. For years now, Republicans and Democrats have been leading the country in the same basic direction: toward bigger and bigger government; more and more socialism, globalism, corporatism, and foreign interventionism; and the dismantling of constitutional liberties. Yet, voters continue to think that they are voting for "change" when they vote for a Republican or Democrat. This is truly insane!

Take a look at the recent $700 billion Wall Street bailout: both John McCain and Barack Obama endorsed and lobbied for it. Both McCain and Obama will continue to bail out these international banksters on the backs of the American taxpayers. Both McCain and Obama support giving illegal aliens amnesty and a path to citizenship. In the debate this past Tuesday night, both McCain and Obama expressed support for sending U.S. forces around the world for "peacekeeping" purposes. They also expressed support for sending combat forces against foreign countries even if those countries do not pose a threat to the United States . Neither Obama nor McCain will do anything to stem the tide of a burgeoning police state or a mushrooming New World Order. Both Obama and McCain support NAFTA and similar "free trade" deals. Neither candidate will do anything to rid America of the Federal Reserve, or work to eliminate the personal income tax, or disband the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Both Obama and McCain support the United Nations. So, pray tell, how is a vote for either McCain or Obama not a wasted vote?

But, back to the "he cannot win" argument: to vote for John McCain is to vote for a man who cannot win. Yes, I am saying it here and now: John McCain cannot win this election. The handwriting is on the wall. The Fat Lady is singing. It is all over. Finished. John McCain cannot win.

With only three weeks before the election, Barack Obama is pulling away. McCain has already pulled his campaign out of Michigan . In other key battleground states, McCain is slipping fast. He was ahead in Missouri ; now it is a toss-up or leaning to Obama. A couple of weeks ago, Ohio , Pennsylvania , and Florida were all leaning towards McCain, or at least toss-up states. Now, they are all leaning to Obama. Even the longtime GOP bellwether state of Indiana is moving toward Obama. In addition, new voter registrations are at an all-time high, and few of them are registering as Republicans. In fact, the Republican Party now claims only around 25% of the electorate, and Independents are increasingly leaning toward Obama.

Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is headed for an electoral landslide victory over John McCain. John McCain can no more beat Barack Obama than Bob Dole could beat Bill Clinton.

I ask, therefore, Are not conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain guilty of the same thing that they accuse people who vote for third party candidates of doing? Are they not voting for someone who cannot win? Indeed, they are. In fact, conservatives and Christians who vote for John McCain are not only voting for a man who cannot win, they are voting for a man who does not share their own beliefs and principles. If this is not insanity, nothing is!

So, why not (for once in your life, perhaps) cast a vote purely for principle! Vote for someone who is truly pro-life. Someone who would quickly secure our nation's borders, and end the invasion of our country by illegal aliens. Someone who would, on his first day in office, release Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean and fire U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. Someone who would immediately, upon assuming office, begin leading the charge to dismantle the Federal Reserve, overturn the 16th Amendment, expunge the IRS, and return America to sound money principles. Someone who would get the US out of the UN. Someone who would stop spending billions and trillions of dollars for foreign aid. Someone who would prosecute the Wall Street bankers who defrauded the American people out of billions of dollars. Someone who would work to repeal NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and stop the NAFTA superhighway. Someone who would say a resounding "No" to the New World Order. Someone who would stop using our brave men and women in uniform as global cops for the United Nations. Someone who would stop America 's global adventurism and interventionism. Someone who would steadfastly support and defend the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

"Who is this person?" you ask. Go here to find out. baldwin08.com

As John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."

hi there, thanks for the post!

I do not feel that voting 3rd party would be a wasted vote,

As most of us here are well aware, our votes dont really count,

sad but true,

however, I think the PTB really do see what the votes would have looked like before being rigged,
and seeing how many people voted 3rd party, would be a bit of a wake up call to them.... maybe? lol

everyone american could vote 3rd party, and when the polls started showing...
no 3rd party candidate would be shown to be winning, regardless of how many voted that way.

So, even if the votes wont help elect who the ppl feel should be elected,

the people still made a huge statement, imho.

It is absolutley CRAZZZYYY to me, that a huge majority of americans have no clue there are other candidates besides the 2 puppets that get all the coverage.

and then......... when I mention this to ppl, a very few have said..
"yeah, but they wouldnt have a chance" ... YEAH, cuz they get No coverage!!!!

and plus its rigged, but still...

the ppl should know.

vote 3rd party, unless your not going to vote at all........ in which case id also understand. lol

dictatorship disguised as a democracy... the worst kind.

In The Netherlands we have a parliament consisting of 14 parties.

They have to come to an agreement on many things.

It works...it is a true democracy as far as a democracy can work.

Poldermodel, google the word and see what you coem up with.
Might be interesting for many to read up on.

I wouldn't mind voting for somebody else than the two running for presidency now but I would certainly not vote for the the third guy you mentioned above.

Isn't there another guy to vote for who promisses peace and enough food for everybody?
(And of course New World Orgasms?)
I would vote for him, that is IF I was allowed to vote.

Not wasted, but misguided sometimes.

In 2000, Gore would have decisively won and not had the election stolen from him if the Green Party hadn't bled votes away. The world would be a different place today if Bush had not been placed in office.

So...not a big fan of the third party vote, but it is your right. IF you live in a swing state, however, be careful about your choice.

Don't agree that Obama's landslide is a given, you cannot count out racism and a Bubba uprising at this point.

Maybe you all hadn't noticed, but voting for ANYONE is a wasted vote. Was I the only one who noticed the last 2 stolen elections? The true powers will get their agenda in place regardless of whether Repuglicant or Demo gets elected.
I am way beyond cynical on this topic. We even had voting tampering up here in idyllic New England. It certainly was much more prolific (the election fraud) than just the swing states.

Cool Re: Is voting third party a wasted vote?

The sad truth is, it is too late to consider third party votes now. Should have done this in the seventies, long ago. As mentioned above, the elections now are rigged, stolen. A revolution, that's what you need now to get some change

Default Green Party is best of the 'third parties'

Presidential voting is only a waste of time if you feel that way about it. For me it is a once-in-a-while ritual that is performed, more about mass intention setting. Viewed this way, voting for the best candidate is what is important.

It is surprising that Cynthia McKinney, presidential candidate for the Green Party, has not been mentioned. My long time BS litmus test is whether or not September 11th can be discussed honestly by an individual or organization. That means most all politicians fail. However the Green Party has been cool enough to have a new investigation as part of the party platform for some time.

And Cynthia McKinney has a proven track record not just on 9/11 truth but on other important topics too.

Last election my presidential vote went to Leonard Peltier of the Peace & Freedom Party. Seemed like there was some beauty to voting for a person still wrongly in federal prison. Anyway, have fun voting!

I guess there will always be those who feel better after performing empty rituals (all religious people, and many new agers come to mind here) but I myself am too much of a realist. I think that if are par of the problem, and yes I think election fraud is a huge problem) that we are only adding fuel to the fire.

George Carlin, in his stand up routine, used to say that he didn't vote. Instead on election day he stayed home and did something else, he then pretended to touch himself, and said, "at least I have something to show for it WHEN I'M DONE!".

Experts Endorsing Ron Paul's Sensible Plan to Permanently Dismantle Federal Reserve

The trillion-dollar Wall Street bailout plan negotiated by the White House and Congress has reinvigorated the debate about Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul’s Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act (HR 2755), which was introduced into Congress in June 2007.

Ron Paul financial advisor Paul Schiff responded: “The Fed got us into this mess. It drives me crazy to see Alan Greenspan on television talking about this ‘100 year flood,’ like the events that are taking place today are random and have nothing to do with his monetary policy. He blew up the bubble, and now it’s burst.”

We need to reform the party system so that people who do vote third party will have a voice.

I say this as an Obama supporter.

Hi, I'm a Brit' so it's not my election BUT, you people really need to watch a documentary called "Hacking Democracy". got my copy from piratebay but it might even be on Google or Youtube.

After you see that you won't be discussing the finer points of the attributes of candidates, you'll be DEMANDING 'paper ballots or else' !.

I think that the waste of your vote is if you votes for one of the 2 parties, they are the same, and "the same" is being pro NWO.

Cheers!

Bob Barr

Another Bailout to Come after Election?
www.BobBarr2008.com

Dear Friend,

As you may know, several of the most senior members of Congress are in tough re-election contests this fall. That's because they voted for the Bush/Obama/McCain Bailout (B.O.M.B.)!

Incumbents are being (rightfully so) clobbered for giving away your tax dollars and mine. The BOMB is exploding in districts across America and it is hurting both Republicans and Democrats who voted to give billions of dollars to Wall Street.

So why isn't this issue having an impact in the Presidential race?

It is! Because Bob Barr, unlike his opponents, opposed the bailouts. Bob has been on news programs this past week defending his stand and pointing out that there is more to come in an Obama administration.

(Given that all polls now conclude that John McCain is going to lose, I'm not going to bother addressing what he would do - - not that it would be any different.)

In federal races where incumbents voted for the BOMB challengers are gaining ground. As this race for the Presidency focuses more and more on economic issues and the Bob Barr plan for our economy, he will continue to gain momentum. In Washington there is already talk of as much as $1 trillion more in the coming months to be spent. And as Republicans and Independents abandon the McCain camp, there is only one place for them to go.

Bob Barr is openly appealing to everyone who recognizes that the BOMB is bad for America. That appeal is working.

We simply need to spread the appeal farther and wider.

There are 12 days until election day. Your gift of $12, $15, or even $25 today would help us spread that message. Click Here to contribute online or for instructions to give by check. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Russell Verney
Campaign Manager
Bob Barr for President

P.S. Remember that you can obtain your very own copy of Bob's new book, Lessons in Liberty, by clicking here and providing a gift of $25 or more.

Voting is a waste of time period. Especially since elections are rigged...since the era of Jimmy Carter or much longer.

So we should just accept defeat and stay home on election day? I don't think so. Call me nutty, but I think we can still salvage what is left of this "Democracy" before it's too late.

You can try to protest but that's the same as begging for w/e you want. I say LEARN THE LAW. Once you learn common law you will be able to fight and bite back.

The two party system is a lie from top to bottom. Gore didn't loose because... he took a dive! Gore was a place holder to block others as was Kerry. The "two party system" phrase is a kind of brainwashing. Leading you to believe there are at least two choices when in reality it's just a variation of the same spin run by the same powers. The two party system doesn't elect leaders, it elects actors. So your fundamental premise is incorrect. There will be no real substantive difference voting democrat, republican or for that matter "Natural Law Party". Further more, the "President" is constitutionally not a very important person. It's all smoke and mirrors that create the perpetual illusion that the Feds are important and being preoccupied with the federal level takes your power away from where it is the most effective, i.e. the local elections. Think of what might change if you where mayor or governor or city council rep or state senator or judge etc.. Find the best local candidate or exclude the democrat/republican/natural law and pick randomly from the rest. If only a democrat and republican are running in a local election, pick the one that's not currently in office. Never reelect a politician, it is the seed of corruption. The Illuminati depend on the dependable. That's why they go to such effort to make you think "Seniority" is so important in your congressional representative. That's why they try so hard to limit us the two manageable candidates. They can't corrupt a new crop every couple of years. Truth would find its way back to the people if politicians where turned over every election.

I keep hearing about how we need to change things and get active...ect...ect.TOO LATE.The avg joe was taken out of the equation years ago. Some still think that a current candidate can make a diff or have an impact.WRONG.They just get assimilated by K street and the 2 billion dollars of lobbyist money that buys the govts policies every year.
