Brita water filters

I reckon Brita water filters will be ok for filtering clean rain water but definitely wouldn't trust them for anything else.
Rain water in the winter is going to be pretty good anyway as long as you collect it in a good sealed water butt.
Make sure your gutters are clean, ie no dead birds

Also if you can I would renew any old cement gutters as these may contain asbestos although it wont be the dangerous blue asbestos.
I've just done mine.

Of course it would be best if you could boil or use water purifying tablets on this water just in case..
