Default New, superheavy element to enter periodic table

1 hr 21 mins ago

BERLIN (Reuters) – A new, superheavy chemical element numbered 112 will soon be officially included in the periodic table, German researchers said.

A team in the southwest German city of Darmstadt first produced 112 in 1996 by firing charged zinc atoms through a 120-meter-long particle accelerator to hit a lead target.

"The new element is approximately 277 times heavier than hydrogen, making it the heaviest element in the periodic table," the scientists at the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research said in a statement late on Wednesday.

The zinc and lead nuclei were fused to form the nucleus of the new element, also known as Ununbium, Latin for 112.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), confirmed the discovery of 112 by the team led by Sigurd Hofmann at the Helmholtz Center. IUPAC has asked for an official name for the element to be submitted.

John Jost, executive director of IUPAC in North Carolina, told Reuters that creating new elements helped researchers to understand how nuclear power plants and atomic bombs function.

The atomic number 112 refers to the sum of the atomic numbers of zinc, which has 30, and lead, which has 82. Atomic numbers denote how many protons are found in the atom's nucleus.

Scientists at the Helmholtz Center have discovered six chemical elements, numbered 107-112, since 1981. The remaining five elements have already been recognized and named.

In 1925, scientists discovered the last naturally occurring element on the periodic table. Since then researchers have sought to create new, heavier elements.

Proving the existence of atoms with such a high mass, the so-called superheavy elements, is a complex procedure because they exist for only tiny fractions of a second and then decay radioactively into other elements.

Gee - A new Element eh ? Go figger that. And here all along They been telling Us that there are no new Elements ?

Hmm - I wonder if They'll bring the other 20 or so BLACK Elements into the Periodic Table that haven't been added to it yet.

Put it this way - They have a Periodic Table and so do We but Theirs is larger and more complete than Ours. Inner Doctrine versus Outer Doctrine...

20+/- Black Elements?! ... can you elaborate?!...

black ops & black elements?

Anything labeled BLACK is Ulta Top Secret Umbra - COSMIC Security Clearance relative.

To say the missing Elements are BLACK means that They were developed or discovered in BLACK Programs, usually VIA nefarious methods, and then kept hidden from Public Scrutiny.

That said, I can tell You of another Element that is not on the Periodic Table currently - That is or Tri-Hydrogen (IIRC). This can only be created in the Zero Gravity Enviroment of Space and is currently made on the Military ISS. Not the Civilian ISS.

Apparently - is used in the manufacture of Anti-matter...

How is it that we call it an "element" if it's not naturally occurring?

Well - By Bombarding an Element in the correct way - In Zero Grav - It allows what is not normally allowed on Earth.

I know eh ? We were told Elements are Elements due to the fact that They just exist and always have in Their pristine state.

With that said - It should make You wonder why THEY call this New one an Element. Suspicious eh ? And with THEM calling it a new Element - You should finally be getting It that Elements can also be created from other Elements to create a Third - New Element...

This is an example of Outer Doctrine versus Inner Doctrine - That is - There is what They tell Us to believe and there is what They know to be the actual Truth.

More often than not and increasingly so - We're told the Outer Doctrine Truth while Its evident that theres an Inner Doctrine of Alternate Truth being practised by Them.

I don't question this one bit.

My question was about the word "element."

seashore - that's a good question!

I was wondering too. Dr Jeckyll makes another new potion, calls it an element of nature, we of the mass-media-slum-dog-info-tier bow and say - wow. bow wow?

thanks!

The "new" element 112 is most certainly not the first not last...:

Ununpentium is the temporary name of a synthetic superheavy element in the periodic table that has the temporary symbol Uup and has the atomic number 115.

Two isotopes are currently known, Uup-287 and Uup-288.

Element 115 also falls in the center of the theoretical island of stability. The most stable isotope of ununpentium is predicted to be Uup-299, containing the theorized "magic number" of 184 neutrons. The most neutron rich isotope to date is Uup-288, which contains 173 neutrons.

On February 2, 2004, synthesis of ununpentium was reported in Physical Review C by a team composed of Russian scientists at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, and American scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The team reported that they bombarded americium-243 with calcium-48 ions to produce four atoms of ununpentium. These atoms, they report, decayed by emission of alpha-particles to ununtrium in approximately 100 milliseconds.

The Dubna-Livermore collaboration has strengthened their claim for the discovery of ununpentium by conducting chemical experiments on the decay daughter 268Db. In experiments in June 2004 and December 2005, the Dubnium isotope was successfully identified by milking the Db fraction and measuring any SF activities. Both the half-life and decay mode were confirmed for the proposed 268Db which lends support to the assignment of Z=115 to the parent nuclei.

Theoretical calculation in a quantum tunneling model supports the experimental alpha decay half-lives.

What was the element that Bob Lazar smuggled out of S-4?

If anyone has a list of the 'black elements' please post it.

Bob Lazar worked with Element 115. This is the Reactor Element in the ET Space Craft which he was back-engineering. Now we see, from my prior post, this is an actual Element which we are now able to produce since 2004.

The reactor is a closed system which uses the Element 115 as its fuel. The element is also the source of the gravity-A wave which is amplified for space/time distortion and travel.

The disc is one of nine, given to the American government in an "exchange" program in the early 1970's. The makers of the craft and providers of the fuel were from the Zeta Reticuli star system. What we exchanged for the technology is not known. A back engineering program began in 1979.

During Lazar's time at the S4 facility, some of the Element 115, as well as a couple of scientists turned up missing. It was never fully explained why, but soon after that the Soviet scientists were kicked out and the remaining scientists were issued guns.

Why the element turned up missing is still a mystery to the people of S4. What is known is that the Element 115 was not considered anything unusual until its atomic number was identified. A process spearheaded by Lazar during his first few months at the facility.

This was a major discovery since the dual purpose of the fuel and the possibility of creating a dual fuel with earth elements would someday be possible. This is where the Alien technology regarding the discs and propulsion systems were kept. According to Lazar, Soviet scientists were also "allowed" to be involved in the program.
