Scroll the screen down until all you see is the shadow of the feet. If you watch closely, you can see when they pull the switch. The lifted foot shadow never moves the opposite way. This a hoax.

This is just a hoax. The lady goes in both directions if you wait long enough and is probably supposed to. No need to concentrate. When she moved counter clockwise her left arm and left leg are out. When she moves in clockwise then her right arm and right leg are extended. If this was just a test on the brain then the arms and legs would not change, only the movement would change.

I have to disagree. My wife and I were watching it at the same time and she said it was going clockwise and I was seeing it counterclockwise. The trick is to watch the shadow at the bottom and visualize which way you think she is rotating and then look up at her. Works for me anyway.

Oh? just watch one leg, or one arm. It doesn't change ever. Whatever leg she's standing on when you start, right or left, just keep watching it as either the right or left. It doesn't change no matter how long you watch.

It is our perception changing, not the spinning image.

Critical thinking required...

What you are seeing is a blob morphing in a rythmic manner that suggests movement about an axis, but the case is not proven that it is a "she" a "dancer" or anything else - however a suggestion has been made which most people would automatically buy into. Just like our ego's and the illusion we live in today.

The fact you may think it represents a dancer, a model of a dancer etc, is all down to suggestion. The fact that most people here will be able to control how that works is no suprise. There is no trickery - it is after all single animated gif file, a never ending loop of still pictures.

To suggest it is a hoax is completely hilarious! No disrespect Argante but honestly that was quite funny.

It is what it is. We can layer our own perceptions/understandings on top.

Haha I remember this girl. Someone posted this when avalon first started.. I can see both ways.
If you can't see it change direction concentrate on the shadow for a while.. it will happen.

Take the image and download it. Put it in a photo software program where you can see each frame. Pay particular attention to frames 13 & 14.

A hack of the spinning girl illusion

Here is another one... just an illusion.

The Einstein Hollow Face Illusion

And Anchor, no offense was taken at all... lol I have always enjoyed our conversations, and you are a good and honorable man. I am thrilled to see you back as a Mod. Keep up the good work!!

LOL, it was Arcora who posted this in a thread a long time ago.
Argante and Anchor, remember this is just for fun!, you know, fun?! LOL
If I just look at her knees she actually doesn't spin at all in either direction, just goes back and forth.

Yup, as is life, fun! (Well most of the time...)

We can learn from everything, even if it is from a set of images that represent a morphing blob that you claim is the likeness of a dancer spinning around one way or the other
