Default Arresting Cable failure on an Aircraft Carrier.

Arresting Cable failures during carrier operations are treacherous. Those who work on the
flight deck must be constantly aware what is going on. You never take your eyes off a
landing aircraft. That's when bad things can happen and you have to be prepared to
react quickly..... Watch carefully in this video and you will see the
F/A-18
pilot eject as the Hornet dribbles off the end of the angle deck. The
yellow
shirt (flight deck director) is a pretty savvy dude and had probably
been
working flight decks for a long time. The two green shirts (technicians,
photographers) and red shirt (emergency personnel) aren't as sharp and
it
looks like someone may have been badly hurt in this one...
