Iran state media reported Tuesday that a nuclear physicist and 'staunch supporter' of the Islamic Revolution was assassinated in Tehran near his home.
A nuclear physicist was assassinated in Tehran on Tuesday by a remotely controlled bomb, Iranian news outlets reported. The reports made thinly veiled suggestions the attack could have been carried out by the United Sates or Israel. The physicist's murder comes amid increasing speculation that Iran has been making nuclear weapons and ahead of a meeting this week by major powers on whether to impose further sanctions the Islamic Republic.

Yep, sounds like typical Israeli Mossad style operation.

Wouldn't be the first time they did such things.

They were also heavily involved in 9/11, if not completely responsible.

In 1992, Ali Mohammadi received the first doctorate in nuclear physics to be awarded in Iran, from Tehran's Sharif University of Technology.

Officials at both Tehran University and Iran's nuclear agency said his work was primarily in the realm of quantum and theoretical physics.

In December, Tehran accused Saudi Arabia of detaining an Iranian nuclear scientist and handing him over to the US. Saudi Arabia denied the claim.

The latest on the enrichment facilities was this:

The disclosure last month of Iran's second enrichment facility – known as Fordo after a village believed to have the largest percentage of fighters killed in the 1980-88 war with Iraq – raised international suspicion over the extent and aim of Tehran's nuclear programme.

But Iran says that by reporting the existence of the site voluntarily to the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog, it "pre-empted a conspiracy" against Tehran by the US and its allies who were hoping to present the site as evidence that Iran was developing its nuclear programme in secret.

Ray McGovern said that Iran was 10 years out on actual nuclear weapons. There have also been moves by the USA to regulate the sale of parts needed to construct them.
