These are not good guys. The odds are just overwhelming that they are not doing this for altruistic reasons. Anyone who has had their identities or credit information stolen would not see intrusions like this in any positive light whatsoever. This is a sophisticated attack conducted by someone with some funding and not pimply faced geeks in their mother's basement somewhere. "Good guys" don't steal intellectual property no more than they would steal your mother's purse.
