Hmmmmm, it would appear pfizer weren't playing ball so they have been "taught a lesson". Whilst 2.3 billion is huge to us, it's a mere drop in the ocean to them.

I was on paxil from just after 9-11 to last september '09 when i finally did a quick ween from it.
The brain zip-zaps (a common withdrawal symptom) have finally seemed to have subsided 4 months later.
What a terrible drug to get prescribed especially only based on a few questions (basically 'do you think you're depressed?)
and no actual brain chemistry measurements!

Yes , I agree. This kind of activity is normal in the pharma industry. Probably they tried to do something good for humanity that we are not told about and that is why they got slapped.

2.3 Bil. is not a lot compared to the 10 Tril. or more figures we are hearing about lately but for a single company it must be substantial. I wonder if they buy insurance for that. Hummmm...
