Nope, the embed feature only works with Youtube as this forums admin created the [youtube] tag for that purpose. if you want to share a video here you can either link it from wherever you store the file online (there are many file hosting providers) or upload to youtube and embed it with the youtube tag.
Sorry, those are your only options.

Hmmm. Upload to YouTube.

Okay. If I have a DVD that I possess and I want to take a snippet of it to use on a thread, what software do I need to use to get my snippet?

I really have to have things spelled out to me one, two, three! Duh!

(This means I have to read the directions, right? Oh no!)

None of it's easy...GL is alluding to the Microsoft one doesn't work very well..

I have one I use at home but the films are usually in AVI or MPEG format.

When I wanted something from DVD ....I had to find a VOB editor

I'll get back with you.

GL:

So I can post on say www.adrive.com and embed it in my post??

No, the only items that can be embedded here are pictures from anywhere
and video from YouTube only.
Audio or Videos from anywhere else will not embed, so posting a link is the only option.

My inbox (thunderbird) has an email with the date 12-31-1969 @ 6:00 p.m. with a blank subject and sender line.

When I highlight the message (no preview pane) in order to check message source, the info page is totaly blank. Message has no digital signature & is not encrypted.

Of course I'm curious, but am not opening. Anyone have a clue?

Can anybody tell me on how to post a new thread? I've been checking this site multiple times, but can't seem to find this obvious tool?

The easiest way I know how is click on the the FORUM link on the right side of the page....choose the forum in which you wish to post..

After you go there...roll to the very LEFT hand bottom...you'll see POST new topic link....then POST away

Thanks! I did that, but now the typelightbox doesn't want me to play anymore. It says:

dAkapacity, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

However, down on the left it says:

You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may post attachments
You may edit your posts

Could it be possible that this is because I registered at the time Avalon still had a paid subscription? I wanted to pay something, but couldn't get my PayPall working back then. Afterwards it changed to non-paid subscription...

Other reason, of course, could be that I'm a complete computernincompoop (luv this word )...

xxdA.
