That there would be special interest in messing with this site comes as no surprise. Given the specs of Internet 2.0

In the new lower layers is specified where the packet is coming from and where it is going to.
So it should increase reliability when routing the packet. But instead of course it is about more control.
Not only can they track even better WHO is spreading WHAT but also they can mess with traffic in a convenient way.
You can let specific packets get lost so you annoy people and they quit visiting the targeted website(s).
You can do this on critical interconnecting points to disrupt source or destination areas. So what everyone experiences
can be totally different depending on your location.

That you have more problems with certain websites can be related to your location (distance/path) with respect to the location
where the server for that specific website resides.

For Firefox users there is a little bit more help: there is an add-on 'clear cache button' that you can place on top.
When you have problems loading a page then press stop, clear cache and retry. Sometimes hitting enter while in the
address bar works better than pressing the reload button.

The only time I have ever had to re-log in was when Avalon reboots the forum server, or it goes down.

Might I suggest you pick up something fairly heavy, and not too expensive, then chuck it at your dear husband's head. Then in your best shrill voice suggest something like...

"Fix this!!! N O W ! ! "



In all seriousness, I am not sure why some folk keep getting logged out, except... when you do log in, there should be a check-box there that says, "Keep me logged in". If you see it next time, make sure it is checked.

Even then you probably did not need to login ... userid and password are both stored separately in a cookie.
That is what you activate when you mark 'keep me logged in'. That makes it browser dependent not server dependent.

These are the potential reasons why you are not automatically logged in:

- cookies are disabled in your browser
- cookies were deleted when cleaning browser data
- cookies were expired (when I look at the data inside they are valid for one year)
- like you browser missed parts of traffic and keeps loading ... the server missed parts of traffic and was not able to read your cookie
