I wonder if "regular" flu has higher mortality rates for obese people...
I do believe that some of these designer viruses (like AIDS, SARS) are targeting certain genotypes, and I would not be surprised if they would target the obese. Because, as you can see by this thread, there is a lot of judgment and hatred shown for these individuals. |

I'm willing to bet that you will find that MOST things are more deadly for severely obese people. It comes with the territory.
That said, I know most people would like to blame the obese for their "predictament" - I think there's a good lot to be said for the chemicals (MSG, among others) in our foods, the genetically altered foods, and things like high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners that make people hungrier. The food industry WANTS us to consume more - and does things to encourage it. I know people who work out like fiends, watch what they eat, and still don't lose weight. For someone who doesn't have that [genetic? karnic?] situation going on in their life to sit in judgment of someone who does is.... wrong, IMHO. (And don't get me started on my rant about MDs who frequently know less about nutrition and weight than the average secretary) alys |

Thanks Dan the Man... Sorry, abt your thread PaL... But thanks for posting... " If It's White; It's NOT Alright..." There are sooo many colors to EAT. Your only talking abt taking One color away... Hey, if people want to loose weight that is all great advice. Don't forget milk, cream and ice cream. ![]() AND chewing the food until it is liquid before swallowing (including not putting another spoonful in the mouth until the last one is chewed). The brain will register its full sooner than if food is gobbled until the temple is gorged and over-stuffed. A person will easily loose weight just masticating it until its liquid and stopping when they are full. OVERANDOUT, PaL Last edited by peaceandlove; 07-14-2009 at 05:30 PM. |

i thought this hemmoragic flu was going to attack people with healthy immune systems. cytokin storms ect... not fat ill people as there immune systems are somewhat compromised. theywill become ill but prob wont die..
also notice the latest news of ebola in pigs. i can see it now swine flu mixes with ebola and creates deadly virus. obv they have to concoct a story to fit round the virus they are going to be releasing soon. |

Yeah, phen-fen - let's kill off all the fat people by giving them heart valve problems, so that the first really significant illness takes them away! <G>
